27 February 2026 โ Romblon, Romblon. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Romblon Provincial Statistical Office successfully held the Closing Ceremony of the 36th Civil Registration Month (CRM) on 27 February 2026 at 3/F Navarrete Bldg., PSA Romblon Multi-Purpose Room, Brgy. II (Pob.), Romblon, Romblon, bringing together students and teachers in a meaningful celebration of the importance of civil registration and vital statistics.
Six participating (6) schools gathered for the activity: Romblon National High School (RNHS), Macario Molina National High School (MMNHS)-Main, Macario Molina National High School (MMNHS) Li-o Extension, Agnipa National High School, Alad National High School, and Montfort Academy (MA). Each school was represented by two (2) student participants and one (1) coach.
As part of the celebration, a Poster Making Contest was conducted among selected students, reflecting the theme, โEvery Life Counted. Every Data Mattersโ. The contest aimed to encourage participants to creatively express their understanding of civil registration and highlight the importance of accurate and reliable data in nation-building.
After evaluation of the entries, Cherry Grace R. Rio and and Risha Mae D. Adenig from MMNHS-Main were declared Champion for their outstanding and meaningful artwork that best captured the essence of the theme. Charles M. Adolfo and Ma. Kaissah C. Salazar from RNHS secured second place, while Migue M. Maestro and Joross M. Mindo from Alad NHS placed third. Their works showcased creativity, originality, and a strong appreciation of the significance of civil registration in everyday life.
Adding excitement to the event, PSA Romblon also organized a trivia-based game titled โPSA Says,โ inspired by the popular television game format Family Feud. The interactive game featured questions and facts about civil registration. Students, teachers and PSA Romblon On-The-Job Trainees enthusiastically engaged in friendly competition, demonstrating teamwork and awareness of civil registration processes and vital statistics. At the end of the game, Team RNHS+MA emerged as the champion, while Team Alad+Agnipa NHS secured second place.
An awarding ceremony was held to formally recognize the winners and participants. Prizes and certificates were presented to honor their active participation, creativity, and exemplary performance.
Moreover, as part of the information campaign, Chief Statistical Specialist Engr. Johnny F. Solis presented a data appreciation session highlighting selected vital statistics. The presentation emphasized the value of accurate, timely, and reliable data in policy-making, program implementation, and inclusive development, as well as statistics on Birth, Marriage, and Death.
The successful conduct of the 36th Civil Registration Month Closing Ceremony reaffirms the strong commitment of PSA Romblon to advancing Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) in line with this yearโs theme, โNavigating the Future Together: Advancing CRVS in Shaping the Global and Regional Data Ecosystem.โ Through meaningful engagements, educational activities, and strengthened partnerships with schools and stakeholders, the event underscored the vital role of accurate, timely, and inclusive data in shaping responsive policies and sustainable development. Through activities such as these, PSA Romblon continues to strengthen public awareness and appreciation of civil registration and vital statistics, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring that every life is counted and every data matters.
