The Department of Tourism (DOT) advises all tourists to remain alert following the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck Cebu on September 30, 2025, with tremors felt in in provinces across Visayas and parts of Luzon and Mindanao.

Tourists are advised to confirm the status of destinations before traveling. Several tourist sites in affected areas may be closed while safety inspections are ongoing.

The public is likewise reminded of the possibility of aftershocks and encouraged to remain alert, monitor official bulletins from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), and follow the guidance of local authorities.

The Department, through its Regional Offices, is working closely with concerned agencies and local government units (LGUs) to assess the safety of access roads and bridges, as well as the condition of affected tourism establishments and workers. Further updates will be issued as needed.

As of 2:00 PM today, 30 September 2025, Low Pressure Area (LPA 09g) is being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and has a " MEDIUM " potential of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

All are advised to monitor updates from DOST-PAGASA.

This decision responds to the appeal of student organizations and addresses the ongoing challenges caused by prolonged power outages and impassable roads in several localities.

The University reaffirms its commitment to uphold student welfare, fairness, and equity in the conduct of academic assessments.
