𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: A religious baptism ceremony turned into a drowning incident when participants unexpectedly failed to notice the river’s depth.

𝐊𝐄𝐘 𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐎𝐍:
Before entering a river or creek, lake and other bodies of water prioritize safety with these tips:

1. Check Weather & Water Conditions:
Avoid swimming during or after storms due to risks of flash floods or strong currents.
Research water depth, flow speed, and potential hazards (e.g., rocks, debris).

2. Never Swim Alone
Always have a buddy or ensure someone onshore knows your plans.

3. Wear a Life Jacket
Essential for weak swimmers and in unpredictable currents.

4.Enter Feet First
Avoid diving headfirst; hidden obstacles or shallow water can cause injury.

5. Beware of Temperature:
Cold water can trigger shock; acclimate gradually.

6. Avoid Alcohol & Drugs:
Impairs judgment and physical ability.

7. Supervise Children Closely:
Keep them within arm’s reach and ensure they wear life jackets.

8. Watch for Hazards:
Slippery rocks, steep banks, dams, underwater plants, or wildlife (e.g., snakes).

9.Know Local Risks:
Heed warning signs (pollution, strong currents) and ask locals about dangers.

10.Protect Against Elements:
Apply waterproof sunscreen, wear hats, and stay hydrated.

11. Emergency Preparedness:
Learn how to escape currents (swim parallel to shore) and carry a whistle/phone in a waterproof bag. Prepare flotation device, reaching aid such as stick, ropes, throwbags.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: Casualty rescued from a collapsed building in Zebuthiri Township, Naypyidaw, Myanmar earlier this morning March 30, 2025 by the Operation Lionheart (OLH) of the Singapore Civil Defense Force (Search nd Rescue Team).

A strong 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar on Friday, March 28, 2025, also affecting Bangkok, where hundreds of people poured out of buildings in panic after feeling the tremors. The epicentre was about 17.2 km from the city of Mandalay.

𝐊𝐄𝐘 𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐒:

If you find yourself trapped under rubble during an earthquake, follow these steps to maximize your chances of survival and rescue:

1. Stay Calm:
Control your breathing to avoid panic and conserve oxygen. Avoid moving excessively, as this may dislodge debris and worsen your situation.

2. Protect Your Airway:
Cover your nose and mouth with cloth (e.g., clothing) to filter dust. Avoid shouting unless necessary; use other signals to conserve energy and reduce dust inhalation.

3. Check for Injuries:
Assess yourself for injuries. If bleeding, apply pressure with available fabric. Avoid removing impaled objects; stabilize them if possible.

4.Signal for Help:
Tap on pipes, walls, or solid objects three times (universal distress signal).
Use a phone flashlight or whistle intermittently if available.
Shout only as a last resort when you hear rescuers nearby.

5.Conserve Resources:
Ration water (if available) and avoid consuming liquids from unsafe sources.
Stay still to conserve energy and body heat. Use clothing or debris for warmth if cold.

6. Create Safe Space:
Gently shift debris only if it’s safe to create breathing room. Avoid major movements.
Shield yourself from falling debris by staying under sturdy objects (e.g., tables).

7.Stay Alert:
Listen for rescue teams (shouting, machinery, or footsteps) and respond when they’re near.
Follow instructions from rescuers (e.g., stay silent if they’re listening for survivors).

8.Mental Resilience:
Focus on positive thoughts and hope. Engage in mental exercises to stay calm. Rest intermittently to preserve strength.

Important Notes:
Do not light matches or lighters (risk of gas explosions).

Avoid digging yourself out unless escape is clearly safe and nearby.

Rescue teams are trained to locate survivors—your priority is to stay protected, signal efficiently, and wait for help.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: A high-rise building under construction in Chatuchak district Bangkok, Thailand has collapsed as a result of the earthquake, with one fatality reported so far.

A strong 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar on Friday, March 28, 2025, also affecting Bangkok, where hundreds of people poured out of buildings in panic after feeling the tremors. The epicentre was about 17.2 km from the city of Mandalay.

During a 7.0 magnitude earthquake, follow these steps to maximize safety:

𝐊𝐄𝐘 𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐒:
A. During the Earthquake:

1. Indoors:

Drop, Cover, and Hold On: Immediately drop to your hands and knees to avoid being knocked over. Take cover under a sturdy table or desk. Hold on to the furniture and stay covered until shaking stops.

No Shelter Nearby?, Move to an interior wall (away from windows), crouch, and protect your head and neck with your arms.

Stay in Bed: If you’re in bed, stay there, cover your head with a pillow, and hold on.

Avoid Hazards: Stay away from windows, mirrors, heavy objects, and shelves. Do not use elevators.

2. Outdoors:

Move to an Open Area: Get away from buildings, trees, streetlights, and power lines. Drop to the ground and protect your head.

3.In a Vehicle:

Pull Over Safely: Stop in a clear area away from bridges, overpasses, and hazards. Stay inside the car with your seatbelt on until shaking stops.

4.In a Wheelchair or Mobility Device:

Lock Wheels: Secure your chair and protect your head/neck with your arms or a pillow.

Immediately After the Earthquake:

1. Expect Aftershocks:Be ready to drop, cover, and hold on again.

2. Check for Injuries: Administer first aid if trained.

3. Evacuate if Necessary: Exit buildings if unsafe (use stairs, not elevators). Avoid damaged structures.

4. Avoid Hazards:Watch for gas leaks (don’t use flames), downed power lines, and broken glass.

5. Stay Informed:Use a battery-powered radio for emergency updates. Avoid phone use except for emergencies.

Preparation Tips (Beforehand).

Secure Heavy Items: Anchor furniture, appliances, and shelves.

Practice Drills: Ensure everyone knows the "Drop, Cover, Hold On" routine.

Emergency Kit: Keep supplies like water, food, flashlight, first aid, and medications accessible.

Special Situations:

Coastal Areas: After shaking stops, move to higher ground if a tsunami is possible.

High-Rise Buildings: Stay indoors; avoid windows. Follow the same "Drop, Cover, Hold On" steps.

By staying calm and acting quickly, you reduce the risk of injury during and after a major earthquake.

𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄: Foreign nationals who went missing while trekking without local guides at Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park in Negros Oriental province have been safely located after more than 48 hours. The individuals were rescued by Team Malabo, Sibulan’s renowned search-and-rescue (SAR) unit. According to reports, the pair admitted they had wandered off the established trail to take photos, disregarding trail markers, and became disoriented due to dense fog.

Key Lessons:

1. Hire local guides- when exploring unfamiliar outdoor terrain—their expertise ensures safety and navigation awareness.

2. Stay on marked trails at all times- deviating increases risks of getting lost, especially in unpredictable weather conditions.

3. Respect trail signage and weather advisories-; environmental factors like fog can rapidly compromise visibility and orientation.

This incident underscores the critical importance of preparedness and adhering to safety protocols in engaging outdoor activities or entering remote areas.

𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁: An AFP air asset, Bombardier Challenger 605 aircraft (FA-50) allegedly went missing at Kalatungan Range. It is on a military operation and has been circling around Mt. Kalatungan, Bukidnon. The plane reportedly came from Mactan International Airport in Cebu,

This area is also near the site of an early morning encounter between government forces and the NPA in Cabanglasan—the same time and location where the Philippine Air Force FA-50 fighter jet reportedly went missing during a night mission.

Some residents of Bukidnon claim to have heard what sounded like a fighter jet during the clash, aside from the helicopters in the area.
