Bangon Capiz. Stay safe po sainyo!
𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗢𝗡 𝗖𝗔𝗣𝗜đť—!
Last night, October 18, 2025, was one of the hardest nights for the people of Capiz. The rain poured continuously for hours, and in just a short time, many areas were already flooded. Some families were stranded in roads where strong currents made crossing impossible. Others were forced to sleep in terminals and malls, wet and tired, with only their bags and prayers to keep them warm. It was a night full of suffering, worry, and fear but still, the people held on, echoing, “Padayon lang!”
Darkness covered the town and the power went out, but the hearts of the Capizeños remained strong. “Wala nagpaluya!”—that was the spirit everyone showed. Neighbors helped each other, rescuers worked through the night, and people shared food, water, and shelter with those in need.
The storm may have brought tears, but it also brought out the very best in the people of Capiz. The “pagbinuligay” —unity and care for one another, became the light in the middle of the storm. Every “salamat”, “halong” and “kaya ta ni!” reminded everyone that hope was still alive.
As the floodwaters began to recede, the people immediately took up the task to rebuild what was lost. Many others became instruments of hope, generously giving food, water, and vital support to those who were still struggling or stranded. Despite the immense damage, the spirit was unbroken; no one surrendered to despair. Instead, Capizeños chose to rise again, together, with enduring hope and unwavering faith, trusting fully that God will guide us forward.
The night of October 18, will be remembered not just for the calamity that happened, but for the fierce courage and unshakeable faith of every Capizeño whose voices echoed, “Bangon Capiz! Kay bisan ano ka baskog sang ulan, mas baskog ang aton paglaum sa Ginoo!”
