๐๐๐๐ | CTE bets present platforms, advocacies in FCU COMELEC online forum
Aiming to bring their visions closer to the student body, the College of Teacher Education (CTE) candidates for the 2025-2026 Midterm Elections presented their platforms and advocacies in an online forum hosted by the FCU Student Commission on Elections (COMELEC) via Facebook Live earlier today, October 11.
Running under the Studentsโ Reform Party, the candidates pledged to uphold student representation and community engagement through platforms centered on environmental responsibility and academic development, including clean-up drives, waste segregation, tree-planting, and peer tutoring initiatives.
Kent Matthew Postremo, candidate for 1st-year Mayor, emphasized transparency, inclusivity, and open communication as vital principles of leadership.
โEvery decision we make should reflect the collective voice of the students,โ he said, emphasizing that true leadership begins with listening and responding to the needs of the student body.
Councilor candidates Stephanie Delantar, Juraine Andrada, and Jhazel Burio also shared their aspirations to uphold fairness, amplify student voices, and encourage more students to embrace leadership opportunities within the department.
Meanwhile, Zachary Yoko Ledesma, candidate for 1st-year Vice Mayor, was unable to attend the forum in observance of her faith. In a statement sent to The Rabbi, she expressed her commitment to be a voice for her fellow students and to help build a more united, active, and supportive department.
The CTE candidates will continue their campaign in the days leading up to the voting period on October 14, with the declaration of winners set for the following day.
