UNIVERSITY | FCU receives dual honors in 5th CHED VI reg'l awards
Exemplifying excellence in community engagement and global education, Filamer Christian University, Inc. (FCU) received two regional recognitions from the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office VI (CHED VI) during the awarding ceremony held at the West Visayas State University Cultural Center, May 21.
FCU emerged as one of only two universities from Capiz honored during the ceremony, solidifying its standing as one of the leading higher education institutions in Western Visayas.
The university received the Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Innovative Awards for its proactive programs promoting drug prevention, awareness, and advocacy within the academic community and partner communities through its National Service Training Program (NSTP).
CHED VI also recognized FCU as one of the Top Higher Education Institutions on Internationalization Programs and Initiatives in Western Visayas for its continued efforts in advancing academic partnerships, global collaborations, and
international mobility opportunities.
Representing the university were University President George O. Cortel, Vice President for Research, Extension, Internationalization, Innovation and Development Erlyn Beup, International Programs Directress Mary Jane Tormon, and NSTP Coordinator Myrla Manua.
"We are grateful for this recognition which reflects our effort to innovate and implement programs that is necessary and relevant for our students and our community," Dr. Cortel said.
Through these recognitions, FCU further commits to its dedication to producing socially responsible and globally equipped learners through quality education, innovation, and collaborative initiatives.
