In the scenic shores of Roxas, Palawan stands as a testament to how a place’s true wealth lies in its people. For three decades, my family has run a funeral services business here a venture rooted not just in honoring lives that have passed, but in holding our community together through grief. When crises struck our home from the devastation of Typhoon Odette to the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic years we extended our support far beyond our business walls. We distributed relief goods, opened our space as a temporary shelter, and worked side-by-side with neighbors to rebuild what was lost, proving that compassion is our strongest foundation.Back then, I thought this was just our family’s way. Today, I know it’s the heart of Roxas—and the foundation of the ALAB - Heart of Roxas Palawan campaign’s promise to Empower Locals.

When I joined the Rotaract Club,we didn't just plant trees along our shores or clean up coastal areas to fight plastic pollution, we brought neighbors together, turning individual action into collective strength. Every seed we planted, every piece of trash we collected, was a step toward building resilience. and every child we help, every family we stand by they’re the reason we keep pushing forward. In Roxas, we know that when we invest in our people, we build a community that can weather any storm & shine brighter with each passing day.

My path to representing our municipality began with my first stage appearance at Roxas Most Beautiful Faces modeling a moment that sparked my passion for sharing our story with the world. Later, as a candidate for Miss Palawan Universe, I took that mission to a larger platform. I showcased our stunning natural attractions from crystal-clear waters and mangrove forests to rolling hills and hidden waterfalls but always led with the stories of our people: their resilience, their vibrant traditions, and their deep connection to the land. For me competing wasn’t about glamour it was about giving our story a voice. Backstage, I met other candidates dancers with glittering costumes, musicians tuning their guitars. We shared nervous smiles and words of encouragement, bound by the same desire to honor our roots. When my name was called, my heart raced, but as I stepped onto the stage and saw familiar faces—my family waving from the front row, neighbors giving me thumbs up, and children watching with wide eyes I felt a surge of courage
Representing my municipality at Miss Universe Philippines-Palawan gave me a platform to share My advocacy “Building Climate-Resilient Communities” shone a light on how our people are already leading the way: resorts like Modessa Island, Green Island and Banwa Private Island partnering with locals to cut plastic use; farmers adapting to climate change with organic practices.I shared what makes us local I talked about how mangroves shield our homes from storms, how responsible forest management keeps our mountains strong, and how every craft we make honors our land.
Carrying Forward Our Legacy – Together:
Today, I see clearly how my family’s work, our community’s service,the passion that fuels us to care for people and the planet alike. Whether we’re honoring those we’ve lost, cleaning our shores, crafting with our hands, or welcoming visitors, we’re building something lasting: a Roxas,Palawan where locals are empowered, tourism enriches every life, and our home remains beautiful for generations to come.Because I know that protecting our environment is essential to keeping Roxas beautiful and ensuring tourism benefits local families for years to come.
