JUNE 24, 2025 — With hearts swelling with pride and eyes set on the future, the College of Teacher Education gathered at the FCU Roblee Hall to celebrate the unwavering commitment and excellence of its students during the much-awaited Recognition Program for the Academic Year 2024–2025.

The program commenced with a graceful processional—awardees, faculty, and proud parents walking down the aisle not just in formality, but as a quiet tribute to the perseverance, sacrifice, and silent victories that brought them to this day of recognition.

Dr. Jonathan P. Leal, Dean of the College, delivered an inspiring message to the awardees of Batch 2024–2025 and Batch Lakas Alpha. He reminded them that success is never born of chance, but of steadfast discipline and an enduring heart. Their presence on that stage, he said, was not just a result of achievement, but of character forged in moments unseen.

Tears of gratitude and messages of gratefulness filled the venue as the seven latin and highest academic awardees of Batch Lakas Alpha shared their stories of hope, moments of uncertainty and recounting trials which strengthened them and ultimately led them to this point of success.

As the ceremony drew to a close, applause echoed throughout the hall, celebrating not just achievements but also the strength built by experiences. What began as a simple event evolved into a powerful celebration of passion, purpose, and power of dreams and a reminder that the future belongs to those who dare to keep striving.

The Pedagolympics 2025 blazed forward as educators showcased their craft in the simultaneous Teach-Off and Lesson Plan Making contests. With minds sharp and spirits high, the competition became more than a display of skill, it became a celebration of the educator’s journey in motion.

Participants in the Teach-Off: Teaching Demonstration competition took center stage before their peers and judges, with Dr. Susan O. Parce serving as chief judge alongside Prof. Melody Blance and Prof. Glenda Marcelino, delivering shadow teaching demonstrations filled with energy, intention, and creative instruction. A vibrant clash of strategies across various disciplines, backed by confident delivery and well-crafted instructional materials, turned the room into a dynamic arena of pedagogy in motion.

Meanwhile, the Lesson Plan Making contest pulsed with quiet intensity. Armed only with a pen and a template, contestants meticulously wrote out each element of a lesson by hand, demonstrating not just content mastery and method but a deep commitment to coherent and purposeful planning.

As both contests unfolded, the kindling of a passion and skill for teaching reflects the spirit CTE @ 42’s theme, defining tomorrow’s teachers.

𝐀 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠.

After being postponed last year due to the sudden rise in the heat index, the College of Teacher Education’s annual 'Education Week' returned this year with CTE @ 42: The Pedagolympics, held under the theme, "Advancing Pedagogical Excellence: Shaping Future Educators for a Transformative Tomorrow."

The event began with a soulful devotional led by Rev. Bhart G. Natuel, who emphasized to aspiring educators their sacred role in building the nation. He reminded the students that behind every profession, there was first a teacher who guided and inspired. His message set the tone for the celebration, reaffirming the impact of the teaching profession.

The atmosphere then shifted from solemn to spirited as the Opening Salvo lit the spark of the three-day festivities with the ceremonial lighting of the torch led by Dr. Jonathan P. Leal, followed by a warm welcome address from Dr. Susan O. Parce, marking the official start of the event.

A visual feast followed in the Parade of Colors, where representatives from each year level proudly carried their banners, bringing with them a dazzling display of unity, creativity, and cheer.

Before diving into more serious competitions, students engaged in a trivia game centered on CTE's history and achievements, including notable alumni who have contributed significantly to the success of the department.

Building on that momentum, the program shifted to the extemporaneous speaking competition, where selected student participants tackled timely issues in education—from current challenges in the Philippine education system to the evolving role of teachers in social transformation, and innovations shaping modern learning.

Now at 42, CTE moves forward with purpose—honoring its roots, empowering its students, and reaffirming its role in shaping educators who will shape the future.
