BALIKTAD CHAIR: A Transformative Seat Rooted in Tradition
The Baliktad Chair draws inspiration from the Bahay Kubo’s attic nipa roof, reimagining its steeply pitched form into a functional outdoor seating experience. Named “Baliktad” (Hiligaynon for “inverted”), its triangular design mirrors the traditional roof while offering ergonomic support. A horizontal beam within the frame, reminiscent of Bahay Kubo attic trusses, adds durability and built-in storage for small items like books or plants, blending practicality with design.
