USAT Basketball Boys Clinch Athletic Meet Championship

The USAT Basketball Boys captured the Athletic Meet Championship after defeating MDM-College, 75–70, in a thrilling title game held on September 8, 2026, at the USAT College Sagay City, Inc. Covered Court.

USAT took control of the championship game through strong teamwork and timely scoring, while MDM-College kept the contest close until the final moments. Both teams battled hard throughout the game, but USAT managed to hold on to its lead and secure the five-point victory.

The 75–70 win officially crowned USAT as the Athletic Meet Basketball Boys Champion, giving the team a memorable finish to the competition.

The victory reflected the players’ teamwork, discipline, and determination as they fought until the final buzzer to bring the championship title home to USAT.

Ginoong Makisig 2026: A Celebration of Confidence and Character

On August 20, 2026, Joshua Abesar, a Grade 12–Hebrews student, was crowned Ginoong Makisig 2026 during the celebration of Buwan ng Wika at USAT College Sagay City, Inc. – Amparo Campus.

His confidence, charisma, and remarkable stage presence captured the attention of the audience and judges, making him deserving of the crown. John Erick Gurra, a 1st-year Hotel and Restaurant Servicing student, secured the 1st Place, while Miko Lequigan earned the title of 2nd Placer and David Bryan Francisco as the 3rd Placer.

Adding excitement to the competition, John Erick Gurra also received the People’s Choice Award, reflecting the support and admiration of the audience. Meanwhile, Majid Malatus was named Mr. Photogenic, John Wayne Illustracion took home Best in Barong Costume, and Lawrence Piang was recognized as Best in Production Number for his impressive performance on stage.

The event celebrated not only physical charm but also confidence, character, talent, and Filipino pride, making Ginoong Makisig 2026 a memorable highlight of this year’s Buwan ng Wika celebration.

USAT College Donates Lot in Calatrava

USAT College Sagay City, Inc. recently donated a 300-square-meter lot for the construction of a pineapple processing facility in Passing Truck, Barangay Minapasok, Calatrava.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held on June 23.

The project is a partnership among USAT College, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the Department of Agriculture, the Municipal Government of Calatrava, and Barangay Minapasok.

The facility is expected to help pineapple farmers process their produce and reduce losses from unsold or damaged harvests.

Barangay Captain Reinhard D. Capidlac said the project would provide opportunities for small farmers and contribute to the development of the community.

DOST Assistant Provincial Director Glady T. Reyes said the facility would help farmers add value to their harvests and improve their income through processing.

USAT College President Dr. Phoebe D. Baluarte and College Administrator Richard C. Baluarte said the donation was intended to support the community and promote agricultural development in the area.

Following the ceremony, representatives of the participating agencies signed a memorandum of agreement formalizing their commitment to the project.

Meanwhile, Dr. Manfred L. Magno, USAT's Vice President for Academic Affairs and Director for Research, Publication, and Extension, said the partnership could pave the way for future collaboration between USAT College and DOST in education, skills development, and community-based programs.
