PRO 8 IWAS-SUNOG HOLIDAY SAFETY TIPS

1. Suriin ang Christmas lights at iba’t-ibang dekorasyon na gamit.
Siguraduhing walang punit, pudpod, o uminit na kable. Gumamit lamang ng mga dekorasyon na ligtas gamitin.

2. Huwag iwanang nakasaksak ang appliances.
Patayin at tanggalin sa saksakan ang Christmas lights, kandila, at iba pang electrical devices bago matulog o umalis ng bahay.

3. Iwasan ang overloading ng extension cords.
Huwag pagsama-samahin ang maraming appliances sa isang outlet. Pumili ng tamang extension cord na may circuit breaker kung maaari.

4. Mag-ingat sa paggamit ng kandila.
Huwag itong ilagay malapit sa kurtina, papel, o anumang madaling magliyab. Patayin agad kapag aalis ng kwarto.

5. Maghanda ng fire extinguisher at emergency plan.
Magkaroon ng fire extinguisher sa bahay at siguraduhing alam ng bawat miyembro ng pamilya ang dapat gawin sa oras ng sunog.

PRO 8 Holiday Safety Tips

1. I-secure ang mga Christmas lights at dekorasyon.
Tiyaking maayos ang mga kable, gumamit ng de-kalidad na extension cord, at iwasang magsaksak ng napakaraming appliances sa iisang outlet upang makaiwas sa sunog.

2. Huwag iwanang nakasindi ang mga ilaw bago matulog.
Siguraduhing nakapatay ang lahat ng hindi kailangang ilaw upang maiwasan ang aksidente.

3. Panatilihing ligtas ang mga bata at alagang hayop.
Ayusing mabuti ang mga babasaging gamit, kable, at maliliit na dekorasyon bahay upang hindi madaling maabot ng mga bata o alagang hayop.

4. Siguraduhing nakalock ang mga pintuan at bintana lalo na kapag aalis.
Kung madalas ang pag-alis o pagbisita sa ibang lugar, ugaliing nakaloc ang mga bintana, pinto, at gate, upang maiwasang manakawan.

5. Ihanda ang basic emergency kit at emergency numbers.
Maghanda ng emergency go bag na may lamang flashlight, batteries, first-aid kit, at iba pang mahahalagang gamit. Tiyaking naka-save ang contact numbers ng barangay, bombero, at pulis para sa anumang sitwasyon.

PRO 8 Nabs High-Profile Drug Suspects; Over 3M Worth of Drugs Seized

CAMP KANGLEON, PALO, LEYTE – As part of its intensified campaign against illegal drugs, the Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8), under the leadership of PBGEN JASON L CAPOY, successfully arrested two High-Value Individuals (HVIs) suspected of drug involvement along the Tanauan Bypass Road in Brgy. Baras, Tanauan, Leyte on December 1, 2025.

The suspects were identified as alias “Jeff” (26), a college graduate, and alias “Raphi” (25), a high school graduate. Both are unemployed and residents of Brgy. Bachao, Leyte, Leyte.

The operation was carried out through the joint efforts of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 8 (RPDEU-8); Regional Intelligence Division 8 (RID-8) Tracker Team; Provincial Intelligence Unit, Leyte Police Provincial Office (PIU, LPPO); 1st Leyte Provincial Mobile Force Company (LPMFC); Regional Special Operations Unit 8 (RSOU-8); Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit 8 (PNP DEG SOU-8); and Tanauan Municipal Police Station (MPS).

Authorities seized nine heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, with an estimated weight of 530 grams and a Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of Php 3,604,000.00. The actual weight and confirmation of the substance as shabu are subject to verification through confirmatory laboratory testing by the Regional Forensic Unit 8.

PBGEN CAPOY lauded the operating units for their commitment and competence. “This buy-bust operation demonstrates your vigilance and teamwork, weakening illegal drug operations and enhancing public trust in the PNP,” he said.

All confiscated evidence was properly marked and inventoried at the place of arrest in the presence of invited witnesses and the suspects, as mandated by law.
Criminal charges are now being prepared for filing against the arrested suspects.
