The Second Unit Test of Saint Catherine of Siena Academy of Samal, Inc. is just around the corner and will be held on September 17, 2025. In preparation, here is the official list of subjects included in the exam. Use this as a guide in reviewing and managing time effectively.

This assessment provides another opportunity for Catherinians to demonstrate their academic growth, discipline, and perseverance. They are encouraged to review diligently, seek guidance through prayer, and give their best effort, with the assurance that hard work and dedication will lead to success.

𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭-𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞

Look: On September 13, 2025, our school community gathered once again for an important event—the Second Parent-Teacher Conference. This gathering served as a valuable opportunity to strengthen the partnership between parents, guardians, teachers, and the school in guiding our learners’ academic journey.

The day began at 8:00 a.m. with a meeting between the parents and guardians of our elected class officers—the President, Vice President, and Secretary of each class—and our principal, Mr. Aldrin Dela Cruz. This session provided space for meaningful discussions and closer collaboration in school leadership matters.

By 9:00 a.m., parents and guardians met with their children’s advisers. During these sessions, class cards and certificates were distributed, upcoming school events were presented, and class-specific concerns were addressed. These open dialogues highlighted the importance of teamwork between home and school in nurturing student growth and success.

The Parent-Teacher Conference continues to serve as a bridge between parents and educators—a time to reflect on student progress, celebrate achievements, and identify ways to provide greater support. Through these conversations, we are reminded of the shared responsibility of raising and guiding learners toward excellence not only in academics but also in their overall development.

𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲!

Today, the school community join hand-in-hand in celebrating the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary with hearts full of devotion and faith. This feast reminds us of the gift of her life in which she elucidated her importance in the plan of salvation. Together, different classrooms have offered flowers in her honor, symbolizing respect, commitment, and gratitude for the Mother of God.

As we share one essence of faith, we mark this special day as a day of reflection about the virtues of Mary. Her life continues to become a beacon of holiness, purity, and hope, reminding us how we should embrace and embody these virtues as our own. May this celebration be another start of a deeper connection and devotion to the Blessed Mother, extending the faith to her Son, Jesus Christ.

𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲!

September 8, 2025 — Today, we gathered in the Holy Mass to joyfully celebrate the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Her birth marks the dawn of salvation, as through her humble ‘yes’ to God’s plan, the Light of the World was given to us. The Blessed Virgin’s life reminds us of the power of faith, obedience, and unconditional love. As we honor her nativity, may we also strive to imitate her virtues in our daily lives — to trust in God’s will, to live with compassion, and to be instruments of peace and hope for others.

𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲!

Today, Saint Catherine of Siena Academy of Samal, Inc. community joyfully joins the universal Church in celebrating the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Her birth marks the dawn that prepared the way for the coming of Christ, the Light of the world. It reminds us that God’s plan for our salvation was already at work even in the quiet beginnings of life. From her first breath, Mary was chosen to be the pure vessel of God’s greatest gift: His Son, Jesus Christ.

This feast is not only a commemoration of Mary’s life but also a celebration of hope, humility, and steadfast faith. Her “yes” to God opened the door to our redemption. As Catherinians, may we be inspired to reflect her virtues—her purity of heart, her deep trust in God, and her unwavering love for humanity.

May this celebration strengthen our devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and renew in us the commitment to live as true instruments of God’s grace, guided by her example and brought ever closer to her Son, Jesus Christ.

𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬 | 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

Despite the rainy weather, the faithful gathered at St. Catherine of Siena Parish to celebrate the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Rev. Fr. Josue V. Enero.

The Gospel from Luke 5:33–39 reminds us of the meaning of fasting—not only as an act of self-denial, but as a sacrifice that deepens our relationship with God and with others.

In his homily, Fr. Josue reminded everyone that, “Ang pag-aayuno ay pagsasakripisyo.” Fasting, he said, is not simply giving something up, but offering our hearts to God so that we may be filled with His love. Just as new wine must be placed in fresh wineskins, we too are called to renewal—leaving behind what holds us back from fully receiving Christ.

He further invited us to reflect on the question: “Dapat bang tanggapin natin ang Salita at Katawan ng Diyos?” May our answer always be a wholehearted “yes,” as we open our hearts to His presence and live out His Word each day in our words, actions, and relationships.

𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬’ 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬 | 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟑𝟎, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

Today, the students of Saint Catherine of Siena Academy of Samal, Inc., together with parishioners, gathered in thanksgiving for the Students’ Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, celebrated by Rev. Fr. Josue V. Enero.

The Gospel from 𝐋𝐮𝐤𝐞 𝟏𝟒:𝟏, 𝟕–𝟏𝟒 teaches us about humility and generosity. Jesus reminds us not to seek honor for ourselves, but to be humble, and to share what we have with those who cannot repay us. True greatness is found not in being served, but in serving others.

In his homily, Fr. Donie reminded the students that living out the Gospel means helping those in need and doing good without expecting anything in return. Our kindness becomes more meaningful when it comes from a sincere heart, offered freely out of love.

As students, may we practice humility in our studies, kindness in our friendships, and generosity in our daily lives—so that through small acts of goodness, we may reflect Christ’s love.

𝑻𝒊𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝑫𝒆𝒇𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒆 2025: 𝑺𝒉𝒐𝒘𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑰𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑫𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒆 12 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔

On August 18-19, 2025, the Senior High School building at St. Catherine of Siena Academy of Samal, Inc. was overflown with innovation and perseverance as Grade 12 stusents defended their developmental studies.

The section of 12 STEM Virgen Del Pilar and Virgen Del Rosario with a total of 16 research groups, and ABM-HUMMS Virgen Del Carmen with 4 groups, showcased the results of hard work, teamwork, and critical thinking. Each presentation reflected not only their academic skills, but also their determination to create meaningful solutions of the current issues faced by the people, in accordance with their strand.

Guiding them through this journey were respected panelists: Hon. Archie Chumacera, Mr. Hanz Andrei Siasat, Ms. Maria Zharina Sanchez, and their research adviser, Mrs. Ma. Jamilla Esteban.

Despite their busy schedules, these mentors lent their precious time, insightful knowledge, and valuable ideas—making the defense not just a requirement, but a valuable learning experience for every group.

Truly, the success of this two-day defense reflects the collective effort of students and panelists who all worked hand-in-hand to bring each research to life. And this is just the beginning, in the months ahead, these groups will take the next big step as they journey into their research proposal.

Saint Catherine of Siena Academy of Samal, Inc. successfully held its Nutri-Jingle Competition last August 2, 2025 as part of the Nutrition Month 2025 Celebration. Alongside the competition, the awarding ceremonies for the Nutri-Art (Traditional and Digital Poster Making), Nutri-Chef (Cooking Contest), and Nutri-Jingle were also conducted, recognizing the creativity, skills, and dedication of the students.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the winners of the said competitions for their outstanding performances and remarkable contributions to the celebration. Your hard work and talent have truly embodied the spirit of excellence and commitment to promoting health and wellness.

The institution also expresses its deepest gratitude to the esteemed judges of the various competitions: for the Nutri-Art Competition, Engr. Dave L. Palattao, Mr. Jerwin John Rosales, and Ms. Eunisse Nuguid; for the Nutri-Chef, Mrs. Salvacion D. Javellana, Mrs. Josephine De Castro, Mr. Carlo Adraneda, and Mrs. Roxanne Fernando; and for the Nutri-Jingle, Engr. Shaira Mae Medina, Ms. Rafaella Mary Bangco, and Mr. Carlo Adraneda.

Furthermore, the school sincerely thanks the administration of the St. Catherine of Siena Parish and Rev. Fr. Josue V. Enero for graciously allowing the use of the parish church during the said event.

As we celebrate this year’s achievements, we encourage all Catherinians to continue showcasing their God-given talents and to actively participate in the school’s future activities and programs. Together, let us keep fostering creativity, excellence, and community spirit in every endeavor.
