FIRST-EVER UNMANNED SUBSTATION IN REGION VI TO SERVE ILONGGOS
MORE Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power) launched Western Visayas’ first fully unmanned 30MVA substation, marking a major step in modernizing Iloilo’s power infrastructure.
The facility is fully automated and remotely operated through an advanced SCADA system, allowing real-time monitoring of load flow, voltage, and equipment conditions without on-site supervision.
The project is part of MORE Power’s five-year grid modernization plan to provide more reliable and efficient service for Ilonggo consumers.
According to company officials, the initiative follows years of planning and addresses issues inherited in 2020, including aging substations, overloaded systems, and outdated facilities. Security personnel will still guard the substations to ensure safety amid growing power demands in Iloilo.
