RSU San Andres Campus Strengthens Volunteerism Through Environmental Action Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals
In a proactive response to the global call for environmental protection, the Romblon State University โ San Andres Campus, headed by its Campus Director, ๐ท๐๐๐. ๐ด๐๐๐๐ ๐จ. ๐ญ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฑ๐., ๐ท๐.๐ซ., spearheaded a Volunteerism Act and Clean-up Drive at the San Andres Public Plaza. This initiative reaffirms the universityโs strong commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)โparticularly SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
The activity aimed to raise awareness and inspire collective action in addressing the urgent challenges of global warming, climate change, and waste pollution. Students, faculty members, and community volunteers joined forces in cleaning and restoring the public plaza, emphasizing the importance of proper waste management, environmental stewardship, and sustainable living practices.
Carrying the theme โVolunteerism in Action: RSU Cares for the Environment,โ the initiative served as a concrete expression of the campusโs advocacy for sustainability and community engagement. Through this activity, RSUโSan Andres Campus demonstrated that volunteerism is not only an act of service but also a vital contribution to achieving the global SDGs.
