Romblon State University – San Andres Campus Showcases Talent at Social and Cultural Affairs Office Auditions for STRASUC 2025

Romblon State University – San Andres Campus (RSU-SANAN) proudly joined the Social and Cultural Affairs Office (SCAO) Auditions for the STRASUC Competitions 2025, held at RSU Odiongan Campus on August 29, 2025.

The campus delegation, led by Prof. Mario A. Fetalver Jr., Ph.D., Campus Director, together with faculty and staff, actively participated in various cultural categories that celebrated artistry, creativity, and the preservation of Filipino heritage. Students from RSU-San Andres Campus showcased their skills in music, dance, theater, and visual arts, representing the campus with pride and determination.

This participation reflects RSU-San Andres Campus’ commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who excel not only academically but also in cultural and artistic endeavors. Through the SCAO Auditions, the campus strengthens its role in promoting Filipino culture, values, and excellence within the broader RSU community and beyond.

Romblon State University – San Andres Campus proudly celebrates the outstanding victory of Ezekiel Dela Cruz, who emerged as the Champion in the Vocal Solo–Kundiman category during the Social and Cultural Affairs Office Auditions for the STRASUC Competitions 2025, held at RSU Odiongan Campus on August 29, 2025.

Guided by his dedicated coach, Ms. Agustina Dela Rama, Ezekiel’s remarkable performance showcased not only his vocal artistry and dedication but also the timeless beauty of Kundiman, a traditional Filipino music that embodies deep emotion and cultural identity. This achievement reflects RSU-San Andres Campus’ unwavering commitment to nurturing talents who exemplify both excellence and cultural pride.

🌿 “Bayanihan sa Kalikasan” — One Community, One Clean Future 🌿

Romblon State University–San Andres Campus, a pillar of education and community development in the province, proudly launches “Bayanihan sa Kalikasan,” an initiative that highlights the University’s commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement.

📌 Rationale
This program seeks to unite students, faculty, staff, and community partners in a shared effort to uphold cleanliness, unity, and civic responsibility. With the active support of the Local Government Unit (LGU), Barangay Officials, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Philippine National Police (PNP), the initiative aims to transform ordinary spaces into clean and inspiring environments that reflect a community that truly cares.

📌 Objectives
1️⃣ To raise environmental awareness, discipline, and sense of responsibility among RSU students and stakeholders.
2️⃣ To strengthen partnerships between RSU and local government agencies through joint environmental action.
3️⃣ To clean, organize, and beautify the RSU–San Andres Campus and selected nearby public areas.
4️⃣ To foster unity, leadership, and volunteerism among the youth and the academic community through shared environmental activities.

📌 Collaboration
This noble movement was proposed by Mr. John Kelly F. Madeja, LPT, MAED, in collaboration with the LGU, Barangay Officials, BFP, and PNP, with the collective support of the RSU–San Andres faculty and staff, and under the strong leadership of the Campus Director, Prof. Mario A. Fetalver Jr., PhD.

𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘 | 𝗥𝗦𝗨-𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔.𝗬. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱-𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲🔰

Romblon State University – San Andres Campus officially welcomed its freshmen and returning students through a 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, at the San Andres Public Plaza on August 20, 2025. The activity introduced students to university policies, faculty and staff, and emphasized the importance of community partnership.

Campus Director 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼 𝗔. 𝗙𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿, 𝗝𝗿., 𝗣𝗵.𝗗. inspired the students in his welcome remarks, encouraging them to pursue academic excellence while embodying RSU’s core values. The orientation was also honored by the presence of the Barangay Captain of Poblacion, San Andres, Romblon—𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗝𝗼𝗲𝗹 𝗗. 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗮, represented by 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗥𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘆𝗲𝘀—who delivered motivational messages highlighting education as a foundation for service and responsible citizenship.

Ensuring student welfare, 𝗣𝗖𝗣𝗧 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗛. 𝗣𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗼, 𝗢𝗜𝗖 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗣𝗦, led a Safety Awareness Campaign, reminding students of their role in promoting peace, discipline, and vigilance. Other program highlights included the introduction of faculty and staff, the presentation of the Student Handbook by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗞𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗙. 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗷𝗮, 𝗟𝗣𝗧, 𝗠𝗔𝗘𝗱, and updates on the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) shared by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗷𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗹 𝗔. 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗹 𝗔. 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗹, 𝗟𝗣𝗧.

The event became more vibrant with a lively performance from the Sandugma Dancers, and concluded with the heartfelt closing remarks of 𝗠𝗿. 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝘃𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘀, 𝗠𝗦𝗧𝗛𝗠, who expressed his gratitude to the participants and emphasized the importance of unity and commitment in pursuing academic excellence. The program ended with the singing of the RSU Hymn, symbolizing pride, solidarity, and dedication to the university.

Masters of Ceremony were 𝗠𝘀. 𝗞𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗚. 𝗙𝗮𝗷𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗼, 𝗠𝗕𝗔 and 𝗠𝗿. 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗚. 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗮.

This year’s orientation was not only a meaningful start for freshmen embarking on their academic journey, but also a reminder for returning students of the values and opportunities that RSU continues to offer. With the unwavering support of the administration, faculty, staff, and local government, RSU students are ready to achieve success in a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment.
