KULTURA , PAGKAKAISA AT KALAYAAN , IPINAGBUNYI SA PAGTATAPOS NG BUWAN NG WIKA AT ASEAN

Wika, ASEAN, kabataan at pagkakaisa ay mga elementong nagbigay buhay sa programang Timpuyog 2025 ng Binalatongan Community College noong ika-1 ng Setyembre, sa Arenas -Resuello Sports Complex.

Isinagawa ang programa bilang pagtatapos ng Buwan ng Wika, Buwan ng ASEAN at Linggo ng Kabataan, kung saan nakilahok ang buong komunidad ng BCC sa mga nasabing pagdiriwang.

Samut-saring pagtatanghal na sumentro sa pagkilala sa mayayamang kultura at kasaysayan ng ng mga bansang kasapi sa ASEAN , tulad ng Pilipinas , ang nagbigay kulay sa nasabing palatuntunan .
Kinagiliwan ng mga manonood ang mga sayaw at drama na itinanghal ng BINHI Performing Arts, madulang sabayang bigkas ng tula at pag awit ng mga nagwaging kalahok mula sa Teacher Education Department at IT Department .

Umani ng masigabong palakpakan mula sa mga manonood nang inirampa ng mga kawani ng BCC ang mga naggagandahang kasuotan ng sampung bansa na kabilang sa ASEAN. Nangibabaw ang kasuotang iminodelo nina Dr. Jesusa Alguno ( Singapore) , G. Francis Crisostomo at G. Julius Degamo ( Myanmar), na dahilan para pagkalooban sila ng espesyal na pagkilala sa kanilang mga iminodelong kasuotan.

Bahagi rin ng programa ay ang pagbibigay gantimpala sa mga nagwaging mag-aaral sa iba’t ibang patimpalak na ginawa sa kasagsagan ng pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika, Buwan ng ASEAN at ng Linggo ng Kabataan, kabilang na rito ang slogan poster-making, madulang sabayang bigkas, at iba pa.

Ginawaran ng sertipiko ng pagkilala ang Supreme Student Council , Kapisanan ng mga Mag-aaral sa Wikang Filipino (KAMAFIL) at LNK sa matagumpay na pagtataguyod ng mga gawain sa tatlong pagdiriwang na ginanap noong buwan ng Agosto.

Mga mensahe at payo ukol sa pagbubuklod , pagyakap sa wikang Filipino, disiplina at pagkilala sa kultura ng iba’t ibang bansa sa ASEAN ang binigyang diin nina Dr. Macrina Cajala , pangulo ng BCC, at ni Mdm. Vienna Rose Magramo, tagapangasiwa ng BCC, sa kanilang mga pananalita.

Sa pagtatapos ng programa, hinimok ni Bb. Geniele Latonero, pangulo ng KAMAFIL , ang lahat na isabuhay ang Timpuyog hindi lamang sa buwan ng wika, kundi sa anumang panahon upang lalo pang umusbong ang pagkakaisa at pagtutulungan ng bawat isa.

MORE THAN JUST A SCHOOL LOVE STORY

It all started in freshman year at Binalatongan Community College.
The air buzzed with excitement — new classmates, new lessons, new beginnings. In the middle of it all, a little joke from friends broke the routine.

“Ira oh… si Jerry!”

She laughed, cheeks turning pink, and answered with a playful "ano ba kayo!” She didn’t think much about it then — after all, she was focused on her studies. Passing her classes and making her family proud were her top priorities.

But fate has its way of turning small moments into life-changing ones.

Soon, their paths began to intertwine — sitting near each other in class, helping with assignments, sharing inside jokes. What started as harmless "tuksuhan" became a quiet connection. They studied together, motivated each other, and celebrated little victories side by side. Both were achievers in their own right, cheering for each other’s success.

It was a love that grew naturally — steady, supportive, and filled with shared dreams.

But life wasn’t going to make it easy.

In the middle of their college years, Ira’s world shifted. She was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. Overnight, their days of carefree studying and goal-chasing turned into a routine of hospital visits, dialysis schedules, and medication.

The adjustment was overwhelming. There were days when Ira thought, “He deserves better." After all, they were young, and Jerry could have chosen an easier path.

But he didn’t.

Jerry stayed.

He stayed through the long hospital hours, when her body was weak and her spirit tired.
He stayed when their dreams were paused for treatments.
He stayed when fear and uncertainty clouded the future.

Through every trial, Jerry proved that love is not just about romance — it’s about choosing someone every single day, even when life gets hard.

And Ira learned something she’ll never forget.

Choose your man wisely.
Not just for the looks, not just for the fun times — but for the heart that will never leave, even in the storm.

Because the greatest love stories don’t just start with a spark.
They survive the rain… and still keep holding hands.

( Editor’s note: Both Ira and Jerry have been campus journalists of The BCC Collegian since 2023. Ira is both a news and feature writer , while Jerry is a lay-out artist. In 2024, Ira was diagnosed with CKD and since then, has been undergoing treatment through medication, dialysis and regular medical check-ups. Ira and Jerry’s love and support for each other were the core essence why they remain passionate about fulfilling their dream to finish school, even in the face of sickness and other challenges. It is hoped that as they share their love story , others who are experiencing “thunderstorms or heavy rains ” in life would also not fail to look for the cloud’s silver lining.)

‎Hindi nasusukat sa hugis ang halaga mo

‎Ay siyang patunay ng lahat ng pinagdaanan mo
‎Pinagdaanan na bumuo sayo...

‎Pero bakit?
‎Bakit parang laging may boses sa mundo
‎na gustong sabihin na “kulang ka”,
‎“dapat ganito ka”,
‎“mas maganda kung ganito ang hugis mo”?
‎
‎Hindi.
‎Hindi mo kailangang magkasya sa kahon ng pamantayan nila.
‎Hindi mo kailangang pilitin ang sarili para lang magkasya sa molde ng iba.
‎
‎Dahil,
‎Ganda ay wala sa payat o mataba,
‎sa maputi o maitim,
‎sa matangkad o pandak.
‎
‎Ang ganda ay nasa puso
‎puso na marunong magmahal,
‎puso na marunong magpatawad,
‎puso na hindi natatakot maging totoo.
‎
‎Kaya ngayon,
‎Tumingin ka sa salamin…

PASUKAN SA BCC UMARANGKADA NA, ORYENTASYON UKOL SA MGA POLISIYA, SERBISYO AT PROGRAMA PARA SA MGA MAG-AARAL GINANAP

Inumpisahan ng Binalatongan Community College (BCC) ang pagbubukas ng akademikong taon 2025-2026 sa pamamagitan ng pagsasagawa ng oryentasyon para sa mga mag-aaral mula ika-apat hanggang ika-siyam ng Agosto , 2025 sa City Mall , lungsod ng San Carlos.

Mga kalahok sa nasabing oryentasyon ay mga mag aaral ng Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) at Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) na naka-enrol sa una at ikalawang taon sa BCC.

Layunin ng oryentasyon na gabayan ang mga mag aaral sa kanilang pagsisimula at pananatili sa BCC sa pamamagitan ng pagpapaliwanang sa kanila ng mga patakaran, proyekto at gawain ng dalubhasaan, pati na rin ang pagpapakilala sa mga miyembro na bumubuo ng BCC.

Tinalakay ng iba’t ibang tanggapan, sa pamamagitan ng audio-visual presentation, ang kanilang mga ipinatutupad na tuntunin at regulasyon , kabilang na ang mga serbisyong kanilang ipinauubaya.Kasama sa mga tanggapang nagsitalakay ay ang mga sumusunod : 1) Teacher Education Department at Information Technology Department ;2)Student Affairs and Services; 3) Registrar’s Office ;4) Library ; 5) Extension Services ; 6) Accounting Office; at 7) Google Workspace Unit .

Sa kanyang mensahe, pinasalamatan ni Dr. Macrina Cajala, pangulo ng BCC, ang mga magulang na dumalo sa pagtitipon at ipinagkatiwala ang edukasyon ng kanilang mga anak sa dalubhasaan. Hinimok nya ang mga magulang na magpatuloy sa pakikipagtulungan sa BCC, para sa ikatatagumpay ng kanilang mga anak na makapagtapos sa loob ng apat na taon.

Sa kabilang dako, pinaalalahanan ni Dr. Cajala ang mga mag-aaral na seryosohin ang apat na taon nilang pananatili sa dalubhasaaan. Hinikayat nya mga ito na mag-aral na mabuti at pahalagahan ang oportunidad na binigay sa kanila bilang mga iskolar ng bayan .

“Andito kami para gabayan kayo sa inyong paglalakbay . Hindi namin kayo iiwan”, pagtitiyak ni Dr. Cajala.

Kasama na dumalo sa nasabing programa ay ang mga dean ng BSIT at BEEd, mga pinuno ng ibat- ibang tanggapan sa BCC, faculty at support staff, mga myembro ng Supreme Student Council, mga manananghal ng Binhi Performing Arts at mga mamamahayag ng The BCC Collegian.

Nagsilbing tagapagdaloy ng programa ay sina Gng. Myra Fernandez at G. Gerald Diadid,mga myembro ng kaguruan sa BCC.

Dumalo sa huling araw ng programa si Kgg. Vici C. Ventanilla,myembro ng lupon ng ikatlong Distrito ng Pangasinan, na nagbahagi ng kanyang mensahe sa mga mga mag-aaral bilang suporta sa kanilang paglalakbay sa pag-aaral.
