𝕍𝕄𝕌𝔽 𝕂𝕚𝕔𝕜𝕤 𝕆𝕗𝕗 𝔸.𝕐. 𝟚𝟘𝟚𝟝-𝟚𝟘𝟚𝟞
To mark the beginning of Academic Year 2025–2026, freshmen and transferees of Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation Inc. (VMUF) came together for the annual College General Orientation held on July 16, 2025, at the VMUF Event Center.
In her welcome address, VMUF President Ma. Lilia Posadas Juan acknowledged the mix of excitement and uncertainty first-year students may feel, assuring them that such emotions are normal and that they are not alone in their journey.
She also expressed gratitude to transferees for choosing VMUF, emphasizing that the university is not just a place for education but a supportive learning community where they can grow, belong, and pursue knowledge with integrity.
In addition, the newly elected officers of the VMUF Council of Student Leaders (CSL) were officially sworn into office during the orientation, pledging before the student body and university administrators.
Luis Andrei M. Agustin of the College of Medical Laboratory Science was elected President of the new VMUF CSL.
Agustin, with a commitment to improve as he goes and to achieve with humility, aims to create achievements and, if possible, to make history. He intends to lead through action and connection.
Joining him are Mary Jane C. Parayan (College of Nursing) (Vice President), Jenny Macadamia (College of Education) (Secretary), Rosemarie Urbistondo (College of Arts and Science) (Sub-Secretary), Andrea Torraneo (College of Business Administration and Accountancy) (Treasurer), Maria Althea Magaway (College of Veterinary Medicine) ( Auditor), Lizbeth Jane Salazar (College of Pharmacy) (Public Information Officer), Cydric Vilda (Senior High School) and Emmalyn Valdez (Technical Vocational Department) (Business Managers), Angelica Baniqued (College of Midwifery) (Religious Coordinator), John Zhen Arias (College of Radiologic Technology) (Socio-Cultural Coordinator), Hans Zechariah Sayson (College of Physical Therapy) (Sports Coordinator), Julliana Orig (College of Hospitality Management) (Academic Coordinator), Bill Henry Ocampo ( College of Information and Computer Studies) and Baby Jane Delos Santos (College of Engineering (Research Coordinators), Princess Dianne Ferrer (College of Medicine) and Vivian Therese De Vera (College of Dentistry) (Extension Coordinators).
The Council is guided by its advisers, Myra F. De Vera and John Leenard C. Reyes, with the Office of Student Affairs and Services headed by Director Dr. Marcelo G. Paz.
Dr. Catherine DG. Torio, Vice President for Academic Affairs, welcomed the new students and introduced the main officials of VMUF. Dr. Marcelo G. Paz, Director of Student Affairs and Services, then discussed important school rules, student guidelines, and relevant policies to ensure a smooth academic journey. Following him, Finance Manager Emerita Rarancol explained the payment process, offered reminders from the Billing and Accounting Department, and outlined related financial procedures.
Dr. Caroline L. Castillo, University Librarian, provided guidance on how to use the library effectively, including adherence to its rules and access to research materials. Kyla Mae Mendoza from the Guidance and Testing Center presented an overview of student support services, such as counseling and testing. Lastly, Dyron A. Torio, Head of MIS, demonstrated how students can navigate the student portal to check their grades, class schedules, announcements, and other academic information.
In his closing remarks, Angelo B. Juan, Vice President for Administration and Director of the Office of Alumni Affairs, welcomed students to the VMUF community, reminding them that their presence is part of a God-driven purpose. He encouraged them to embrace their journey with commitment, focus, and strong values, assuring them that while college may be challenging, their potential, support, and learning will make it worthwhile.
