VMUF Student Leaders Engage in Life Skills Training for IDADAIT 2025
San Carlos City, Pangasinan—In line with the celebration of International Day Against Drug Abuse And Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT) 2025, student leaders of Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation, Inc., joined in Life Skills Development Training held on June 24-26 at the Lenox Hotel, Dagupan City.
"Each of you has the power to be a spark of change." The assistant secretary of the deputy executive director for administration of the Dangerous Drugs Board MA. Victoria C. Sorne, emphasized the importance of youth participation in promoting a drug-free environment.
Organized by the Commission on Higher Education Region I in partnership with the Dangerous Drugs Board, with CHED Memorandum Order No. 15, s. 2025, the three-day seminar aimed to empower youth leaders by enhancing their communication, decision-making, and facilitation skills, as well as personal and life skills, to aid in drug use prevention and promote overall mental well-being.
Four participants from the VMUF Council of Student Leaders are Yasmien B. Galicia (President S.Y. 2024-2025), Kim John P. Montemayor (Sub-secretary S.Y. 2024-2025), Jonnabeth A. Guillermo (Treasurer S.Y. 2024-2025), and Rimavi E. Niño (Research Coordinator S.Y. 2024-2025), alongside 48 student leaders from selected higher education institutions of Region 1, who participated in various interactive activities and insightful discourse.
This commitment by CHED Regional Office I aims to strengthen youth participation in promoting a drug-free environment and proactive youth leadership and culture.
