Sept. 10 - The San Carlos City Police Station showcased its “Dial 911 Five-Minute Response Strategy” during a live demonstration at the Tañon College gymnasium, highlighting the quick action and tactical skills of its Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team.

The drill, spearheaded by the Philippine National Police (PNP) San Carlos Component City Police Station, simulated real-life emergency scenarios to demonstrate how authorities respond to high-risk situations within minutes.

Students and staff witnessed first-hand how the PNP and SWAT execute coordinated maneuvers, showing the precision, speed, and discipline required in actual operations.

𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐀𝐋 𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐊𝐒 𝐀 𝐅𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐄

Sept. 5 - The 73rd Founding Anniversary celebration of Tañon College concluded on a festive note as the community gathered for the much-anticipated Cultural Night, which featured dynamic performances, the awarding ceremony, and a vibrant foam party that united students, faculty, and staff in joy and camaraderie.

The evening opened with an energetic drumbeating exhibition and a performative dance number by the TC Dance Company, which embodied the celebration’s Hawaiian theme. This was followed by the variety show, where winners and runner-ups of the Literary and Musical Night showcased their award-winning performances.

Following the cultural presentations, the spotlight turned to the awarding of winners from the weeklong festivities, where outstanding performances and achievements across various competitions were recognized with cheers and applause. The celebration then transitioned into the foam party, transforming the night into a lively and colorful gathering filled with music, lights, and laughter.

𝐀 𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐅𝐔𝐍, 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐂, 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐕𝐎𝐆𝐔𝐄

Sept. 4 — Tañon College recently held its much-anticipated Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and Students’ Night 2025 at the school quadrangle, which brought together students, parents, and teachers for an unforgettable evening of fun, talent, and fashion.

The night kicked off with lively parlor games, setting the mood with laughter and camaraderie. Following this, the induction of school club officers took place, officially welcoming student leaders who will continue to uphold responsibility and excellence in their respective organizations. The energy heightened with the Battle of the Bands, where young musicians showcased their passion and artistry on stage. After electrifying performances, Nuebe-Diyes emerged as the champion, earning thunderous applause and admiration from the crowd.

Capping off the PTA & Students' Night was the much-anticipated Vogue: Hallway to Runway, where students confidently strutted in their best vogue-inspired attires, turning the campus into a glamorous runway.

Sept. 4 — Students gathered at the school library to showcase their creativity in Spoken Word Poetry and On-the-Spot Poem Writing, presenting original works that reflected both emotional depth and literary skill.

The Spoken Word Poetry began with Grade 7’s “Laro Tayo," followed by Grade 8’s “Ang Pag-ibig na Di Ko Malimutan," and Grade 9’s “Ikaw ang Pag-ibig." Each performance captured heartfelt emotions and resonated strongly with the audience. In the On-the-Spot Poem Writing contest, students from Grades 10, 11, and 12 impressed with their spontaneous creativity and mastery of language.

At the end of the competition, KC Masayon of Grade 9 emerged as the Spoken Word Poetry champion, while Johann Pasco of Grade 12 STEM claimed the top spot in Poem Writing.

Sept. 4 — Tañon College, Inc. hosted its much-anticipated Quiz Bowl Challenge, an event designed to test students’ general knowledge, critical thinking, and teamwork. The activity encouraged participants to showcase their talents, exercise their common sense, and collaborate effectively in groups of four.

The competition proved to be both exciting and challenging, with Groups 2 and 4 ending in a tie that made it difficult to determine the 1st Runner-Up. After careful deliberation, the final results were announced: Group 3 emerged as the overall Champion, Group 4 secured the 1st Runner-Up position, Group 2 followed as 2nd Runner-Up, and Group 1 claimed the 3rd Runner-Up spot.

Sept. 4 — Tañon College held a Thanksgiving and Memorial Service in the Tañon Gym to mark the 115th birth anniversary of its founder, Eugenio A. Antonio Jr., which brought together faculty, students, alumni, and community members in tribute to his legacy of education and service.

The program included a liturgy by Mrs. Janeth M. Franco, a meditation from Mr. Antonio’s daughter Mrs. Cynthia A. Sanchez, scripture readings, and performances by the UCCP Choir. Prayers and floral offerings from faculty, alumni, and student leaders symbolize the community’s lasting commitment to his values.

Tañon College reaffirms its dedication to Mr. Antonio’s principles of faith, discipline, and respect, with the administration set to announce initiatives that carry forward his vision.

Sept. 3 — Tañon College’s School Gymnasium came alive with the artistry of speech as the Literary Night showcased Character Impersonation, Balak, Short Storytelling, and Extemporaneous Speech Contest.

The competitions began with Character Impersonation, where Elvie Concepcion of Grade 8 claimed the title. Next, in the Balak Competition, Grade 9’s Josh Devaughn Intienza won with a moving and creative piece. In Short Storytelling, Grade 11’s Claire Bartolome impressed the judges with her inspirational story. Closing the contests was Extemporaneous Speaking, where Jan Rhendel Sotes of Grade 11 STEM earned the top spot.

The evening concluded with recognition for faculty and judges. Winners will be recognized as they receive awards on September 5, 2025.

Sept. 2 — The Tañon College gymnasium was transformed into a stage of enchantment and celebration as students gathered for the Musical Night, an evening filled with music, dance, and artistry, showcasing graceful traditional Filipino dances and energetic hip-hop routines to soulful vocal solos and duets, and masterful instrumental performances.

The Grade 7 claimed victory in the vocal solo, while Grade 9 enchanted the audience with their winning folk dance performance. Grade 10 lit up the stage and secured the top spot in the pop dance competition, followed by Grade 12’s powerful triumph in the vocal duet category. Not to be outdone, Grade 11 showcased their brilliance in instrumental music, earning the win in the instrumental solo performance.

Each moment of the night was a testament to the incredible spirit of the Tañon College community. Beyond the competitions and accolades, the culmination was a celebration of culture, artistry, and the boundless creativity of the students. It was an evening that truly lived up to its name—filled with magical melodies, unforgettable memories, and a shared passion for the performing arts.

Sept. 2 — The City Sports Complex buzzed with energy as Tañon College kicked off with spirited football matches between Grade 7 and Grade 8, followed by a face-off between Grade 9 and Grade 10, drawing enthusiastic crowds of students, teachers, and parents.

Grade 8 showcased strong coordination to defeat Grade 7 with a score of 4-0. Grade 9 edged out Grade 10 (3-1) in a resilient match, marking a thrilling start to the competition. Which gives us the winning teams, grade 8 and grade 10. Giving their absolute best to the winner vs winner, putting the grade 8 as the official winner in the juniors category.

Furthermore, the championships for grades 11 and 12 will take place on Sept. 3, while the winners of the said competition will be awarded and recognized on Sept. 5.

𝐒𝐋𝐀𝐌𝐒, 𝐃𝐔𝐍𝐊𝐒, 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐓𝐒: 𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐊𝐄𝐓𝐁𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐖-𝐎𝐅𝐅

Sept. 2 — The Tañon College Quadrangle was filled with excitement, cheers, and support, when the basketball players in both boys and girls category showcased their finesse in the semi-finals.

The first match started between the heat of the Grade 8 and Grade 12 Boys. For the first game, Grade 12 boys striked a luck and won with the score 60-50. Next up was a fight between the Basketball Girls of Senior High and Junior High. Loud cheers, and screams of supports echoes the schools' grounds. The match ended with the Senior High team paving their way and striving the win with the score of 51-46.

Furthermore, awarding of winners and giving of certificates will be officially on September 5, 2025.
