The highly anticipated FSC-SBO Sportsfest 2024 officially opened on December 7, 2024, at the Plaza of the City of San Fernando, La Union, featuring various competing schools from the city. The program was structured into five segments: (1) Parade of Schools, (2) Opening Ceremony, (3) Search for Mr. and Ms. Sportsfest 2024, (4) Powerdance Competition 2024, and (5) Awarding Ceremonies.
The event commenced with a lively parade, followed by the opening ceremony. During this ceremony, the preliminary proceedings were conducted, leading to welcome remarks by Ms. Katrina Kaye Liberato, President of the FSC-SBO (Batch Dalluyun). Hon. Lucia Esperanza O. Valero then delivered the opening remarks. Shortly thereafter, messages were conveyed by various city officials, including Hon. Hermenegildo Gualberto (City Mayor), Hon. Alfredo Pablo R. Ortega (City Vice Mayor and FSC-SBO Adviser), and Hon. Kyle Marie Eufrosito Y. Nisce (City Councilor and FSC-SBO Adviser).
A significant moment of the ceremony was marked by the lighting of the urn, performed by Ms. Kyla Louise Bulaga, recognized as the Most Outstanding Swimmer in the Girls 14-15 bracket at Batang Pinoy 2024. The Oath of Sportsmanship was led by Hon. Kirk Andrew Agulan, SK Federation President and FSC-SBO Adviser. The official declaration was made by Hon. Mark Anthony A. Ducusin, City Councilor and FSC-SBO Adviser. Additionally, the UCC Valor Dance Squad provided a captivating guest performance during the opening ceremony.
Following the opening ceremony, the Search for Mr. and Ms. Sportsfest 2024 commenced. During this event, the Provincial Vice-Governor delivered an inspirational address to the audience, after which the Board of Judges was introduced. Ms. Sofia Dominique Mamaril, the FSC-SBO Vice President, presented the guidelines and criteria for the pageant.
The competition began with the high school category, featuring representatives ๐๐ . ๐ด๐๐ โ๐ ๐ด๐๐๐๐๐ก๐๐๐ and ๐๐. ๐ท๐๐ ๐ฝ๐๐๐๐ ๐ท๐๐ง๐๐, followed by the college category, represented by ๐๐ . ๐๐ฆ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐บ๐๐ ๐ฟ. ๐ถ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ and ๐๐. ๐๐๐ ๐ฝ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ท. ๐

Subsequently, the powerdance competition took place. Prior to the competition, the provincial congressman addressed the attendees. After his message, Ms. Lydel Jam Baga, the FSC-SBO Treasurer, read the guidelines and criteria for the powerdance competition. The event then commenced with the high school category, featuring 13 participating. schools, followed by the college category, featuring 5 participating schools.
Following the conclusion of the Search for Mr. and Ms. Sportsfest 2024 and the Powerdance Competition 2024, the highly anticipated awarding ceremonies commenced. During this segment, the reigning Mr. and Ms. SBO Sportsfest from both the high school and college divisions made their farewell walk across the center stage. Tokens and certificates were subsequently presented to the selection committee in recognition of their valuable contributions.
In addition, the judges surprised the audience with a special performance. The formal awarding began with the announcement of the winners for Mr. and Ms. Sportsfest 2024. Ms. Ashley Nicole from our school graciously passed the crown to the new queen of the college category from Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU). Following the recognition of the Mr. and Ms. Sportsfest winners, the awards for the powerdance Competition were presented, with the ๐ต๐ท๐ช๐ด๐บ๐ป ๐๐๐๐๐๐
