Looking for a climb that will test your spirit? Why not conquer the majestic 𝐌𝐭. 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠-𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠?

Standing as the 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘬 in the province of Romblon, 𝐌𝐭. 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠-𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 has a 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘺 𝘭𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭 𝘰𝘧 9/9, a true test of strength and spirit. Its jagged peaks and steep, technical slopes challenge even the most seasoned mountaineers.

Climbing Mt. Guiting-Guiting can be done through two main trails, the 𝘛𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘯 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘭 located at Tampayan, Magdiwang, Romblon and the 𝘖𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘰 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘭 located at Sitio Olango, España, San Fernando, Romblon both for reverse and traverse.

Beyond the climb, it is dubbed as the 𝘎𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘰𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘈𝘴𝘪𝘢 for its diverse biodiversity. The mountain is a home to 54 species of endemic flora and fauna found nowhere else in the world. A haven for explorers, nature lovers, and thrill-seekers alike.

𝘾𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙖 𝙙𝙚 𝙂𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙤 𝙄𝙨𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙙 lies on the eastern side of Azagra, San Fernando, Romblon. This 12-hectare, rooster's crest- shaped paradise boasts lush greenery that gently slopes down to a stretch of powdery white sand. Surrounding the island are crystal-clear, turquoise waters teeming with vibrant coral reefs and striking rock formations.

One of its most breathtaking features is the twin islets, beautifully linked by a stunning 180-meter sandbar that magically vanishes during high tide.

The island is also home to a special protected area where sea turtles come to lay and hatch their eggs—a reminder of Cresta de Gallo’s untouched and fragile beauty.

From the port of Azagra, take a pump boat ride that lasts about 45 minutes to an hour. The journey may take some time, but the moment you set foot on this hidden gem, you’ll know it’s worth every wave.

The 𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙋𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙖 𝘾𝙖𝙪𝙞𝙩 or “𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙤𝙡𝙖” located at Barangay Azagra, San Fernando, Romblon has a 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘦-𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘦 with a 45 steps spiral staircase. The lighthouse is 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘦𝘭 and its staircase is 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵. The lighthouse has a height of 33 ft. or 10 meters.
It was built by around 1973-1974 during the time of former President Ferdinand E. Marcos by Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA). In addition, this lighthouse is powered by crude oil and in year 2000 the government changed it to a “Solar Powered Halogen Lamps” to save from gas and it is safe to use.
Today, the lighthouse standstill but not operational and due to its age, it is dangerous so we advised the visitors not to climb anymore.

Travel tax goes into nation-building. 🇵🇭

Tourism projects around the Philippines are funded by your contributions through the travel tax paid when you travel out of the country.

It is distributed among TIEZA, the Commission on Education (CHED) and the National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA) for tourism infrastructure and ventures, tourism-related education efforts, and preservation of local heritage.

IS ROMBLON BECOMING A NEW HUB FOR PHILIPPINE FILMMAKING?

LOOK: KYLE ECHARRI & XYRIEL MANABAT SPOTTED FILMING ON SIBUYAN ISLAND

Star Magic artists Kyle Echarri and Xyriel Manabat were recently spotted on Sibuyan Island, Romblon, filming a new movie at the scenic Cantingas River in San Fernando. They were visited on set by Governor Trina Firmalo-Fabic, who shared photos from the shoot on Facebook.

Their visit comes just weeks after Elijah Canlas and Ron Angeles were also seen filming for the upcoming Cinemalaya entry Raging, directed by Ryan Machado—a proud Romblomanon known for Huling Palabas (2023), Engkwento (2017), and Love and Videotapes (2023).

Cresta de Gallo, Sibuyan Island sidetrip after the hardest climb 🌊

Mount Guiting-Guiting, towering at 2,058 meters on Sibuyan Island in the Philippines, is renowned for its jagged peaks and challenging trails. The first successful ascent to its summit occurred on June 17, 1982, achieved by a team comprising Mon Ruiz, Kim Valino, and Roel Tan Torres from the University of the Philippines Mountaineers, along with Edwin Gatia from the Philippine Mountaineering Society. This expedition was organized under the leadership of Arturo Valdez. Notably, all members of this pioneering team were Filipino mountaineers.
