Comrades once again proved that they stand by the principle of unity and foster the culture of โBayanihanโ as teaching and non-teaching staff of the college convened to do a clean-up drive on July 28, 2025 at the College of Management. To ensure rehabilitation and rebuilding in the college, different personnel lent their helping hands and took the initiative in cleaning the affected classrooms and facilities showing us that apathy was not their option during these trying times.
Super Typhoon Emong, which had the intensity of Signal No. 4, showed its wrath to the entire province, leaving houses, buildings, and schools destroyed drastically on July 24, 2025. The College of Management was not an exception as various facilities were affected as well. Buildings, trees, classrooms, and faculty rooms โ all of these were ravaged helplessly. In response to this, the college clamored for a bayanihan spirit in the hopes of rebuilding broken pieces that once were whole.
In spite of the dreadful impact that the typhoon left in their lives โ be it in the form of mental, emotional, or physical toll โ personnel still managed to show up, for they believed that a safe academic institution is an integral part of molding the future leaders of the college: the studentry. Participants picked up branches, cleaned broken glass, and mopped dirty floors to efface all possible typhoon footprints. Although the school still has a long way to go to achieve full recovery, their efforts are seen as a stepping stone for more helping hands in the future and brighter days ahead.
Emong might have destroyed different facilities in the college, but one thing's for sure: the mettle of each comrade remains strong, proving that no adversity can break the college's synergy. This collaborative endeavor has truly demonstrated that staff proudly embody one of the core values of DMMMSU:
โLeadership for transformation, empowerment, and sustainable development.โ
