Proudly raising the colors that unite all Filipinos, SM City La Union commemorated National Flag Day with a solemn yet meaningful flag-raising ceremony on May 28, 2026.

The program commenced with the Entrance of Colors, led by the Customer Relations Services team, followed by the raising of the Philippine flag and the singing of the national anthem.

A highlight of the ceremony was the recitation of the Panunumpa ng Katapatan sa Watawat ng Pilipinas, led by Drake J. Lim, Mall Manager. In his inspirational message, he emphasized the importance of the national flag as a symbol of unity, identity, and shared responsibility, encouraging everyone present to uphold its meaning in their daily lives.

“Let the flag remind us that despite our differences, we stand as one Filipino people committed to serve, uplift one another, and take pride in our nation every day,” Lim said.

Joining the activity were SM City La Union administrative employees, along with representatives from affiliates and tenant partners.

Anchored on the celebration of Filipino pride, SM City La Union reaffirms its role as a hub for community engagement and national pride, bringing Filipinos closer through meaningful and memorable shared moments in what continues to be your most loved mall.

LOOK: SM City La Union strengthens its commitment to sustainability as it joins the Department of Energy’s O.N.E. (Oras Natin sa Efficiency) Campaign, encouraging energy-saving habits through simple everyday actions.

On Monday, May 25, 2026, from 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM, the mall switched off their non-essential lights. For one meaningful hour, the darkness inside SM City La Union became a symbol of collective action for a brighter and more sustainable future.

Through the initiative, SM City La Union continues to support efforts that encourage simple energy-saving habits and inspire communities to take part in caring for Mother Earth.
