Moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal and Metro Manila within the next 2 hours.

Heavy to intense rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are being experienced in Batangas(Lian, Tuy, Balayan, Calatagan, Nasugbu), Tarlac(Victoria), Quezon(Atimonan, Agdangan, Padre Burgos, Pagbilao, Unisan, Plaridel, Alabat, Quezon), Bulacan(Dona Remedios Trinidad), Zambales(Subic, San Antonio, San Narciso) and Bataan(Morong, Mariveles, Bagac) which may persist within 2 hours and may affect nearby areas.

All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides.

DPWH Region III Secures ISO 9001:2015 Recertification

Malolos City — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region III has renewed its commitment to quality management by earning recertification under the ISO 9001:2015 standard. The certification was awarded by TUV NORD Philippines, Inc. after a comprehensive audit of the regional office and district engineering offices (DEOs) conducted in 2025.

The awarding ceremony took place on July 7 during the department’s 7th Regional Staff Meeting, hosted by the Bulacan DEOs. Key officials present included Regional Director Roseller Tolentino, Assistant Director Melquiades Sto. Domingo, and Regional QMS Coordinator Jayson Jauco.

In his remarks, Director Tolentino highlighted the importance of maintaining high standards of quality to ensure efficient public service and strengthen public trust. He stated, “This recertification reaffirms our dedication to continuous improvement and excellence. It reflects the hard work and discipline of our team in Region III.”

Assistant Director Sto. Domingo emphasized teamwork and accountability as vital elements in sustaining the department’s quality management system, noting that the achievement is a collective success that demonstrates the department’s capacity to meet international standards.

TUV NORD Philippines, Inc., an internationally recognized certifying body, validated DPWH Region III’s compliance with globally accepted quality management principles, confirming the department’s efficient systems and customer-focused services aligned with ISO 9001:2015 standards.

The Regional Public Affairs and Information Office also announced winners of the Quarterly Public Information and Communications Excellence (PICE) Awards, recognizing outstanding District Public Affairs and Information Units. Additionally, the Finance Division commended DEOs with the highest absorptive capacity and disbursement rates for both current and previous years.

LOOK: Department of Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon meets with Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso about the right of way acquisition for the North-South Commuter Railway South Extension (NSCR-Ex) from Tutuban to Sta Mesa, Manila.

Joining them are DOTr Undersecretary Timothy John Batan of Rail Sector, Assistant Secretary Irish “IC” Calaguas of Right of Way and Site Acquisition, Domagoso’s Chief of Staff Cezar Chavez and Secretary to the Mayor Letlet Zarcal.

Domagoso has signified his full support to the project.

President Ferdinand Marcos has been pushing for faster implementation of rail projects in the country through DOTr Secretary Dizon for the benefit and convenience of commuters.
