𝐋𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 | 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐢

Ash lands on the brow.
Not decoration.
Oracle.

We rise crowned in youth.
Garlanded with ambition.
Drunk on the illusion of time.
We speak as if tomorrow belongs to us.
As if time is ours to command.

Beneath silk skin, decay waits.
Cells fracture.
Bones rehearse surrender.
The mirror keeps the record of vanishing.

Man is magnificent.
And sentenced.

On the bare rise of Golgotha,
mortality was visible.
Raised against the sky.
Naked.
Unforgiving.
Breath faltered.
Blood darkened.
The earth watched.

The hourglass does not threaten.
It is consecrated.
Every grain declares:
You were here.
You are here.
You will not remain.

Death:
the final punctuation
in a sentence God allowed to begin.

Dust is not shameful.
It is the origin.
Inheritance.
To be finite
is to be sharp with meaning.

If I perish, let mercy strike fast.
If I fade, let gratitude burn brighter.
If I return to earth, let my steps be careful.

The grave is not a mockery.
It is a measure.

It teaches the hand to bless,
the tongue to forgive,
the heart to love.

I am breathing.
Brief.
Astounding.

Because I will end,
every moment hits
with holy weight.

In solemn observance of Ash Wednesday, all high school students gathered at the Fr. Burgos Gym on February 18, 2026, to mark the beginning of the Lenten season. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Rev. Fr. Rumpearl Tenkings Isaac, CICM, who led the faithful in prayer, reflection, and the imposition of ashes.

During his homily, Fr. Tenkings emphasized the true essence of Lent through the pillars of almsgiving, prayer, and fasting. He encouraged students to go beyond rituals by practicing sincere repentance, extending help to those in need, strengthening their relationship with God through consistent prayer, and making meaningful sacrifices as a form of spiritual discipline. He reminded everyone that the ashes placed on their foreheads symbolize humility, mortality, and the call to conversion.

The celebration fostered a spirit of unity and reflection among the students as they began the 40-day journey toward Easter. The gathering served as a reminder for the school community to renew their faith, practice compassion, and embrace personal transformation throughout the Lenten season.

Louisians Commemorate 40th Anniversary of EDSA Revolution at National Summit

QUEZON CITY — To mark the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution, Annicka Benauro and Grene Giel Cabanela, accompanied by Mr. John Carlo Manabat, participated in the EDSA Recall Youth Summit, held at Ateneo de Manila University from February 24 to 25.

Organized by the Catholic Education Association of the Philippines (CEAP) and Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan (SLB), the event sought to deepen the youth’s grasp of the 1986 revolution and strengthen democratic values and responsibility.

“We need to keep the knowledge, lessons, and memories of EDSA alive. To keep the momentum alive, our commitment to our country must not waver, stated Fr. Roberto "Bobby" C. Yap, President of Ateneo de Manila University.

Throughout the summit, participants engaged with speakers and advocates to discuss the revolution's history, key figures, and its impact on contemporary Philippine issues.

Moreover, the program featured immersive experiences, including a visit to the Bantayog ng mga Bayani Museum and participation in the Trillion Peso March at the People Power Monument.

The 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution was a series of public protests that successfully ended the 21-year authoritarian rule of President Ferdinand Marcos and restored democratic institutions in the Philippines.

We cannot stain the canvas
with yesterday’s color in hand.
To cling to a fading mark
is to live inside the past.

To lift the brush is to learn—
to choose a different shade,
to glide it to a new space,
without fearing a new change.

Letting go is not to fear
nor pretend it never grew.
It is to learn to release—
Pause and loosen what we knew.

To let go is not to forget.
It is the calm to let it dry—
the same color that tether us still;
So new shade may take its place.

Shaped from the clay of the ground,
From dust...mankind is found.v
To witness the beauty of creation,
Back to dust—as we reach decomposition.

From the earth we are sculpted,
Look how much we have corrupted.
Before we return from where we rose,
Make sure there's fruitful buds that grows.

Don't be scared, don't spread hatred,
Value the moments left—they are sacred.
Embrace the light that was made,
Because one day...our bones deep down are already laid.

Flickering spark,
Feel it... it cannot be seen in the dark.
It's here—so warm,
A force unseen... that shields us from harm.

Drown in silence so loud,
Feel the presence—be proud.
Sense the distance decreasing,
Salvation's here, feel the agony releasing.

The three-day activity, initiated by the school’s recognized clubs, gathered the participation of all Junior High School (JHS) and Senior High School (SHS) organizations. Each club prepared unique booths offering games, sweet treats, photo spots, and Valentine-themed items for students and teachers to enjoy.

The event aimed to promote camaraderie, creativity, and collaboration among students while giving clubs an opportunity to showcase their talents and strengthen their organizational spirit. It also encouraged meaningful interactions within the school community in celebration of love—not only romantic love, but also friendship and unity.

Ash Wednesday marks the solemn commencement of Lent, offering the community a significant opportunity to become fully available to God. The imposition of ashes serves as a profound outward symbol of interior repentance and spiritual awareness, acting as a visible reminder of the call to turn back to God. This tradition, observed by the Church for centuries, invites us to reflect on our lives and strive to become the best versions of ourselves through a renewed commitment to our faith.

As we observe this day through fasting and abstinence, we are encouraged to realign our priorities and nourish our souls. May these acts of sacrifice strengthen our will, loosen our attachment to worldly desires, and deepen our recognition of our fundamental dependence on God.

With the theme, “From Theory to Practice: Empowering Researchers to Advance in Research through Statistical Innovations,” a Statistics Seminar-Workshop was conducted for Grade 12 students to strengthen their research and data analysis skills.

The seminar was initiated by the English Club in collaboration with the Practical Research 2 subject teachers, aiming to equip student-researchers with practical knowledge in applying statistical tools to their studies. The activity focused on bridging theoretical concepts and real-world research applications, helping students gain deeper understanding and confidence in handling research data.

The invited speaker, Dr. Jolina May T. Viloria, shared her expertise in statistics and research methodologies. She discussed key statistical techniques, proper data interpretation, and common challenges encountered in research. Students were also guided on how to select appropriate statistical treatments aligned with their research design.

Through this initiative, Grade 12 students were empowered to enhance the quality of their research outputs and become more competent and analytical young researchers.
