The Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (CICM) Philippine Schools Network (PSN) successfully held its Governance Assembly 2025 at the Cordillera Convention Hall, Baguio Country Club, from July 9 to 11, 2025.

One of the highlights of the assembly was the heartfelt and inspiring gathering of the Culture and Arts Cluster. This meaningful moment allowed the cluster members to come together in solidarity to collaborate, share insights, and draft their collective action plan for the upcoming academic year. It was an opportunity to strengthen their shared vision of enriching the cultural and artistic life across CICM institutions. Featured in the photo are the dedicated Culture and Arts heads from various CICM schools from left to right: Ms. Joan Almira P. Jallores from Saint Louis College – Cebu, Mr. Allan P. Samonte from the University of Saint Louis – Tuguegarao City,Ms. Normita R. Pablico from Saint Louis University – Baguio City, Mr. Sherween Jerry Paul V. Saquing from Saint Mary’s University – Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, Ms. Ronda L. Navalta also from Saint Mary’s University – Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya and Mr. Jeson A. Together, they represent the unwavering commitment of CICM schools to champion Filipino culture, arts, and values—fostering creativity and cultural identity among learners in their respective communities.

Calling all passionate and talented Louisians! We are looking for:

•Prepare a 2–3 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲 performance. Language may be in 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵, 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼, 𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗼
•You may use a piece from the internet, but 𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱.

A day that filled our hearts, our minds, and the stage. We began with a breathtaking tour of 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐢𝐬 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲’𝐬 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐮𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 a walk through stories, history, and the very soul of art. Then came the continuation of our workshop; deeper conversations, stronger connections, and moments of realization that art is not just what we do… it’s who we’re becoming.

During the Recital Program, each group — chorale, dance, and theater — shared their experiences, and 𝙈𝙨. 𝘼𝙡𝙚𝙭𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙧𝙖 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙙𝙤 of LTE represents the theater group. Honest. Raw. Moving. We didn’t just speak; we opened our hearts. And then, we took the stage — not to impress, but to express.

Afterward came the awarding of certificates, the group photos, quick snapshots, tight hugs, and those bittersweet goodbyes. Because somehow, 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐞’𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞.

There’s no better way to start the first day of the 𝐂𝐈𝐂𝐌 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 than with a Holy Mass, as the performing groups from the four participating CICM Schools—Saint Louis College (San Fernando, La Union), Saint Louis University (Baguio City), Saint Mary’s University (Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya), and the University of Saint Louis (Tuguegarao City)—committed two days to come together as one.

Representatives from SLU CCA led the icebreaker activities, providing students from different schools the opportunity to get to know one another and build new connections.

Theater groups from various CICM universities participated in The Artist Convergence Workshop, coming together as one through their shared passion for the arts. Facilitated by 𝙈𝙧. 𝙅𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙏𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙣 & 𝙈𝙧𝙨. 𝙇𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙚 𝙉𝙪𝙚𝙫𝙤 𝙏𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙣, the workshop was both fun and insightful, emphasizing the importance of being 𝑨𝑼𝑻𝑯𝑬𝑵𝑻𝑰𝑪 artists and the power of an ensemble that 𝑺𝑯𝑰𝑵𝑬 𝑨𝑺 𝑶𝑵𝑬 .

The CICM Philippine Schools Network (CICM-PSN) Center for Culture and the Arts (CCA) Cluster officially launched the two-day Artist Convergence at the Main Campus of Saint Louis University (SLU) on 26 until 27 June 2025 bringing together students, educators, and artists from four CICM-affiliated institutions in a celebration of culture, creativity, and community.

149 participants from Saint Louis College-San Fernando La Union (SLC-LU), SLU-Baguio City, Saint Mary’s University (SMU)-Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, and University of Saint Louis (USL) Tuguegarao convened for the training workshop on Filipino artistic expression through dance, vocal music, and theater.

The convergence opened with a Eucharistic Celebration, followed by a Trainer’s Forum and a Members’ Meet and Greet, fostering a spirit of shared purpose among attendees. Following the opening preliminaries were the immersive dance, voice, and theater workshops.

Prof. Fidel Calalang, the founder and conductor of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Singers, conducted the voice master classes featuring laboratory pieces tailored for the participants.

Richardson Yadao, a two-time Gawad Buhay Awardee and renowned Philippine choreographer and dance artist, facilitated dance workshops emphasizing body awareness, alignment, and movement vocabulary.

Lhorvie Nuevo-Tadioan and Jonathan Tad Tadioan, senior actors of the National Performing Arts Company for Theater in the Philippines, Tanghalang Pilipino Actors Company, led theater sessions focusing on acting skills and techniques.

On 27 June, participants will embark on an indigenous heritage tour of the SLU Museum of Igorot Cultures and Arts and a theater tour of the Fr. Joseph Van den Daelen CICM CCA Theater. This will be followed by the continuation of the workshops, then a culminating activity at the CCA Lobby, where participants will showcase their learnings and celebrate their shared creative journey.

The CICM-PSN Artist Convergence further ignites creativity and inspires a new wave of Filipino artists and cultural advocates, strengthening the bonds among CICM schools. This initiative is aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education), 10 (Reduced Inequalities), 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

The Congregatio Immaculati Cordis Mariae (CICM) – Philippines Schools Network (PSN) Center for Culture and the Arts Cluster proudly presents its first-ever Artist Convergence, a significant initiative under the CICM-PSN 2024 Action Plan.
