World Rabies Day | September 28 🌍💉

The Venerable Knight Veterinarians Fraternity and the Venerable Lady Veterinarians Sorority, Upsilon Chapter, join the world in the fight against 𝙧𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙚𝙨.

Did you know?
🐾 𝙍𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙚𝙨 is one of the 𝙤𝙡𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙨, recorded for over 4,000 years.
⚠️ Once symptoms appear, rabies is almost 𝟏𝟎𝟎% 𝙛𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙡—but it is also 𝟏𝟎𝟎% 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 with vaccines.
🐕 𝘿𝙤𝙜𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙨𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙘𝙚 of human rabies cases, accounting for up to 99% of transmissions.
🧠 The rabies virus travels through the 𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙨𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢, which is why early treatment is critical.
✅ Vaccinating just 70% 𝙤𝙛 𝙙𝙤𝙜𝙨 in a community can eliminate rabies in both animals and humans.
