John 3:30 (KJV) says, "He must increase, but I must decrease." This verse, spoken by John the Baptist, reflects his humility and desire to point others to Jesus rather than himself. Applying it to your life means making Christ the center of everything you do. Here are practical ways to live it out:
1. Prioritize Christ in Your Daily Life
Spend time in prayer and Bible reading to grow your relationship with Jesus.
Seek His guidance in your decisions, big or small.
2. Serve Others with Humility
Look for ways to serve without seeking attention or recognition (Philippians 2:3-4).
Celebrate others' successes rather than focusing on your own.
3. Share the Gospel Boldly
Use your words and actions to point people to Jesus.
Share your testimony, but always highlight how Christ is working in you.
4. Let Go of Pride and Selfish Ambitions
Evaluate your motives—are you doing things for personal glory or to glorify God?
Practice humility by acknowledging that every gift and talent comes from Him (James 1:17).
5. Live for Eternal Purposes
Focus on things that have lasting, spiritual value rather than temporary achievements.
Ask yourself daily, “Is Jesus increasing in my life today?”
By allowing Christ to "increase" in your life, your desires, pride, and self-focus "decrease," making room for His love and purpose to shine through you.
