“An unknown teacher keeps the watch along the borders of darkness and leads the attack on the trenches of ignorance and folly. Patient in his duty, he quickens the indolent, encourages the eager, and steadies the unstable. He communicates his own joy in learning and shares with boys and girls the best treasures of his mind. He lights many candles which in later years will shine back to cheer him. This is his reward.” - Henry Van D**e

Happy World Teachers' Day to all teachers out there! Continue making difference in the lives of many. To the other side of the coin, take care of yourself. Be well. We are grateful to you today and every single day. God bless. 🙏💚✨

Hello! It's time for an interesting English fact and trivia!

Do you know him? How about let’s meet Geoffrey Chaucer – the father of English Literature!

Geoffrey Chaucer, well-known as the father of English literature, was born in London around 1340. He is most known for his unfinished work, The Canterbury Tales, which is regarded as one of English literature's greatest poetic works.

He died in London on October 25, 1400, and he was the first person to be buried in the famous Poet's Corner of Westminster Abbey.
He came from a rich family involved in the London wine trade. Chaucer is thought to have attended St. Paul's Cathedral School when he first became acquainted with Virgil and Ovid's powerful writing.

During the Hundred Years' War, Chaucer joined the English army's invasion of France in 1359 and was captured. In 1360, King Edward III of England paid his ransom to set him free. Following his release, he joined the Royal Service and served on diplomatic missions throughout France, Spain, and Italy.
