“Sometimes God lets you hit rock bottom so that you realize that God is the rock at the bottom.”

Rock bottom feels like failure.
Like silence.
Like prayers bouncing off the ceiling.
Like strength drained, pride stripped, and hope barely breathing.

Bible tells a different story.

Rock bottom is not where God abandons you it’s often where He finally has your full attention.

“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer.”
Psalm 18:2

When everything you leaned on gives way…
when the props are kicked out…
when self-reliance, control, and false strength collapse
you don’t fall into nothing.

You fall into Him.

God doesn’t allow the breaking to punish you. He allows it to rebuild you on something unshakable.

Pride must fall before surrender can rise.
Noise must quiet before truth can be heard.
Strength must fail before His strength can take over.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9

At rock bottom, there’s no pretending.
No posturing.
No performing.

Just honesty.
Just need.
Just a heart saying, “God, if You don’t show up, I won’t survive.”

And that’s where He shines brightest.

Because the Rock doesn’t crumble.
The Rock doesn’t move.
The Rock doesn’t abandon those who fall on Him.

“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 3:11

If you’re there right now
on your knees, empty-handed, worn down

Take heart.

You haven’t fallen past God.
You’ve fallen into Him.

And the Rock at the bottom
is the same Rock that will lift you back up.

The Glimpse of tragedy:

When Adam and Eve sinned, shame entered the world. They hid because of their nakedness and shame.

They covered themselves
with fig leaves that were fragile,
temporary, insufficient.

But God did something unimaginable,
“The LORD God made
garments of skin for Adam
and his wife, and clothed them.”
(Genesis 3:21)

That simple verse carries a profound truth,
The first blood was shed in Eden.
The first sacrifice was made
so guilty sinners could be covered.
A life was taken so life could continue.

It was a foreshadow.
A whisper of something
greater still to come.

Because one day,
Jesus, the Lamb of God
would be stripped naked,
lifted on a cross,
and give His own blood,
not just to cover our shame temporarily,
but to remove it forever.

Eden required a substitute.
Golgotha provided the ultimate Substitute.

In Eden, God covered their bodies.
On the cross, Christ covers our souls

The first sacrifice
hinted at the final sacrifice.

The first blood shed
pointed to the precious blood of Jesus.

He took our shame,
so we could be clothed
in His righteousness.

The lesson that I am still learning until now is CONTENTMENT.
I realize that CONTENTMENT is not a gift that some people are born with. It is something we learn.
We learn it through seasons of lack and seasons of abundance.
We learn it when we stop comparing and start trusting that God’s timing and provision are enough.

Learning to be content takes time.
It doesn’t happen overnight, it’s something we grow into. True contentment isn’t about changing our circumstances, it’s about changing our perspective.

Paul can attest to this as he wrote:

“I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.” Philippians 4:11 💛

I pray that all of us will lean it because I believe this is one of the finest state of being that everyone could achieve.

In the Old Covenant, His people choses someone as their representative to God.

In the New Covenant, God chose His Son (JESUS) to be His representative to His people.

For the Law made nothing perfect, but bringing in a better hope did, and by this hope we draw near to God. Heb 7:19

God’s greatest works in us rarely come in times of comfort. Like gold in the furnace, we must first be melted — our pride dissolved, our self-dependence burned away — before He can mold us into the image of Christ.
Job, in the midst of unimaginable loss, declared:
“But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”

Job 23:10

The melting is painful — the trials, the tests, the seasons of waiting — but it is never without purpose. The fire refines. The melting prepares. The molding transforms.

When the process is done, you won’t just survive — you’ll shine.
