Working as an Executive Virtual Assistant, reliability is part of the job. Deadlines and client work don’t pause just because the power goes out.
With the current global situation and ongoing war, I’ve been seeing reports that the Philippines may only have around 60 days of fuel supply if imports are disrupted (if I’m not mistaken). That could mean higher fuel prices, higher electricity costs, and possibly rotating brownouts.
For those of us working from home, that could mean:
⚡ No electricity
⚡ No WiFi
⚡ No work
Of course we can inform our boss or clients during a power interruption… but we all know it’s not always easy to just disappear when important tasks need to be done.
That’s why having a backup power source became part of my WFH setup. At least during brownouts, I can still power my laptop, keep my WiFi running, and finish urgent tasks.
Prepared > panicking.
