A little story that you NEED TO READ.
New into resin crafting? Never do it without these two.
Back in 2021, when I first started doing resin, I watched a looooot of resin tutorials on youtube to learn how to do it and I'm telling you, out of all those videos, no one ever said to use these PPE's---no one. As I watch more and more videos, I've read some comments of the danger of using it without mask and gloves. So, I researched about it and found out that the toxic fumes that the resin are releasing while on the curing/drying process is very dangerous if inhaled and also the direct skin contact with it.
2 months into resin crafting and creating tutorials:
I didn't believed the side effects at first until it happened to me: puffy eyes, very bad headache and rashes on my hands and everything that the resin touches whenever I'm crafting. I think I've made at least 5-7 video tutorials without using mask and gloves until I can't take it anymore and researched more about it. After I've read some articles about Epoxy resin, I immediately went to buy V***R Mask and NITRILE Gloves. You can't just use a normal mask or normal gloves with resin.
At that time, I've got quite many followers on YT already and I don't want to badly influence them into using resin without proper PPE's, so even if I will put my channel at stake for spilling it, I made a video about the danger of resin and how can you protect yourself from it if you still want to do it.
I expected backlash from my followers and from other people who might watch it but to my horror, they were surprised to find it out too, because back then, no one ever mentioned on many tutorials the danger of it. It's just magical, enchanting, fascinating, flawless tutorials.
No one ever told the dark side of it. I realized how many people like me tried resin and got side effects. It was very saddening. So I went to every resin artists that I've watched and commented the danger of resin on their videos and told the people to use V***r Mask and Nitrile gloves and also have proper ventilation if they decided to do it.
I was a victim of bad influencing back then and I can't do that to my followers. I risked my channel for the sake of my followers and viewers. But now, I'm happy where I am 💝
PS, while raw resin is already expensive, the danger of crafting with it is one of the reasons why the resin artists are selling their products with a high value. Plus the time and effort to work with it. Coz I'm telling you, resin is very moody 🤣 even if you've already mastered a technique, you are not 100% sure that you'd be able to pull it off everytime. I know coz I have a drawer full of failed projects 😵💫😆
PSS, for anyone asking me what to buy first to start this craft---it's not the resin kit for beginners, not alcohol inks, mica powder, or dried flowers and glitters---its V***r Mask and Nitrile gloves.
