🚨BREAKING: The comic book community is mourning the loss of Joshua Cassara, whose incredible artwork helped define one of the most memorable eras of modern X-Men comics.
Cassara became especially beloved for his work on X-Force during the Krakoa era, where his dynamic storytelling, character work and incredible action sequences made the series a standout. His work on Wolverine, X-Men, X Lives of Wolverine and X Deaths of Wolverine, Deadpool/Wolverine and numerous other Marvel projects showed just how much he had to offer.
For so many readers, Cassara’s art became part of what made the Krakoa era feel so distinct. His work had an energy and intensity that could make a brutal fight feel completely alive, while still giving the characters beneath the action real personality.
And what makes this loss especially heartbreaking is how much more Cassara clearly had ahead of him. He was still creating, still evolving and still leaving his mark on the industry.
His wife has confirmed his passing, and the response from fellow creators and fans has already made clear just how deeply he was loved and respected.
Thank you for the incredible work, Josh. Your art will live on in the pages you left behind and in the memories of everyone who got to experience it.
