A toddler may not have the words to say, “I'm overwhelmed,” “I'm tired,” “I need help,” or “This is too much for me.”

Their behavior may communicate it instead.

What behavior does your toddler show most when they're overwhelmed?

Let's talk about toddler life. 😅
What's one phrase your toddler says ALL. THE. TIME?

Is it:
"NO!"
"I DON'T WANT IT!"
"MINE!"
"DO IT MYSELF!"

Or something completely different? 😂

You don't have to be a perfect parent.

You will lose your patience sometimes.
You will say the wrong thing sometimes.
You will have difficult days.

What matters is that you keep learning, reconnecting, and trying again.

Parenting isn't about getting everything right.

It's about showing up. 💛

What we say during a difficult moment can make a big difference. ❤️
Toddlers are still learning how to handle frustration, communicate their needs, and understand boundaries.
That doesn't mean we have to say “yes” to everything.
We can still say NO.
We can still set firm boundaries.
And we can still show understanding and connection.
Instead of only saying “Stop!” or “Don’t!”, try giving your toddler words they can actually learn from.

If your toddler says “NO!” to literally everything… welcome to the club. 😂

Sometimes that “NO” isn’t about being difficult.

They’re learning that they have a voice, preferences, and a little bit of control over their world.

Instead of turning it into a power struggle, try giving two simple choices:

👉 “Do you want the blue cup or the pink cup?”

👉 “Do you want to clean up the blocks or the books first?”

You’re still setting the boundary—you’re just giving them a little room for independence. 🤍

What is the funniest thing your toddler has ever said NO to? 😂 Tell me in the comments!

“NO!” again? 😅 You’re not alone.
Toddlers are discovering their independence—and sometimes, “NO!” is their favorite way to show it.
Instead of turning every “no” into a power struggle, try giving two choices you’re comfortable with.
💙 “Do you want the blue shirt?”
💛 “Or the yellow one?”
You’re still holding the boundary.
Your toddler just gets a little control within it. 🤍
The goal isn't to make your toddler stop saying “no.”
It’s to help them learn how to express their growing independence within healthy boundaries.
👉 Save this for your next toddler “NO!” moment.
