Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommas fighting battles no one can see.
To the moms who feel like they are not enough.
To the moms who think they could’ve done better.
To the moms trying their hardest yet still feel unseen and unappreciated.
To the moms crying silent tears at night while everything feels like it’s slowly falling apart.
To the moms who apologize for burnt rice, overcooked meals, forgotten things, and exhausting days that never seem to end, even when no apology was needed in the first place.
To the moms who sit quietly afterward, carrying guilt over small things as if they were storms.
To the moms who feel sorry for mistakes that were never fully within their control.
But let me tell you this, momma:
You are loved.
You are seen.
You are strong.
You are the light that keeps the home warm even when your own heart feels cold.
You can drown yourself in a bottle of wine for one night, wreck havoc, scream, cry, curse at the world, and still your love remains deep and unconditional.
And to all the sons and daughters: love your mama.
She may not always be perfect.
She may have made mistakes.
She may have made you uncomfortable, angry, ashamed, or annoyed at times.
But she tried. She did her best with the weight she carried.
Let her be carefree sometimes.
Let her rant.
Let her laugh at silly things until her stomach hurts.
Because those little moments are often the only times you truly get to see her as herself, not just as “mom.”
Sometimes, you only fully understand her once you’ve walked the same road she did.
So momma, hang in there.
Somewhere out there, someone is loving you unconditionally too.
