IN PHOTOS | Members of the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (BAYAN) and allied progressive groups gathered along Kalaw Avenue on Independence Day before marching toward the Embassy of the United States to protest the continued expansion of United States military presence in the Philippines, yesterday June 12.

The mobilization called for the dismantling of foreign military bases and opposed increased military operations and missile deployments in the country.

As we honor our well-fought victory against our oppressors, let us not forget that our fight for independence does not end there, but instead should encourage us to unite, promote justice, and strive for the greater good of our country.

SBU LOGS 83.33% PASSING RATE FOR FIRST-TIME TAKERS IN MAY 2026 CPALE

LOOK | San Beda University’s Department of Accountancy and Taxation has produced 10 new accountants, logging a 50% overall passing rate during the May 2026 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination (CPALE) results released today, June 2.

First-time takers reached a passing rate of 83.33%, while repeat-takers attained 35.71%.

The national passing average for this year’s CPALE stands at 30.83%.
