Hailing from the vast plains of Isabela to the rolling hills of Cagayan and the quiet strength of Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino, Midshipmen from Region II carry with them the resilience shaped by land and river. Raised in communities where agriculture and hard work define daily life, they learned early the value of patience, discipline, and perseverance, which are traits forged under the heat of the sun and strengthened by the steady flow of the Cagayan River. These foundations prepared them for the demanding life within the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy.
Inside the Academy, the challenges were no different from the struggles they had known, only greater. The long days, strict routines, and physical and mental tests mirrored the endurance of farmers in the fields and the determination of families who work tirelessly for a better future. Drawing strength from their roots, midshipmen from the Cagayan Valley learned to adapt, to lead, and to stand firm under pressure, transforming hardship into growth and responsibility.
As they continue their journey toward becoming officers, they carry not only their personal ambitions but also the pride of their provinces. Each step forward reflects the sacrifices of their families and the lessons of their homeland. Grounded in humility and driven by purpose, they stand ready to navigate the seas, bringing with them the unwavering spirit of Cagayan Valley wherever duty calls.
