DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara led the meeting alongside Assistant Secretary Georgina Ann Yang, First Secretary Lourencio Joao, First Secretary Antonio Fernandez, and Second Secretary Nicole Enriquez to discuss the future collaboration efforts of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Angola and DepEd.

"We are honored to be visited by such distinguished and experienced guests. We would like to thank His Excellency for the kind and empowering words for the Department. We are looking forward to anything that will advance the diplomatic relations between our two countries," Sec. Angara stated.

𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗽𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗣𝟯𝟬𝟬𝗞 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗷𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗶𝗯𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻

As a result of the continuous fight against illegal drugs, the Cabalyero Cops of Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) discovered and burned PhP300,000.00 worth of ma*****na plants during a ma*****na eradication operation conducted in Kibungan, Benguet on February 2, 2025.

According to the reports from the Regional Operations Division of Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR), two ma*****na cultivation sites planted with 1,500 Fully Grown Ma*****na Plants (FGMJP) with a Standard Drug Price of PhP300,000.00 were discovered in Sitio Alalasi, Brgy. Badeo, Kibungan.

The operation was launched by the joint operatives of Kibungan Municipal Police Station, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Provincial Intelligence Unit of Benguet PPO, Regional Intelligence Division of PRO CAR, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-CAR.

All discovered ma*****na plants were documented, uprooted, and subsequently incinerated on-site, while enough samples were collected for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit-CAR.

Further, the operatives are currently conducting follow-up investigations to identify other ma*****na cultivation sites in nearby areas and apprehend cultivators.

𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝟭𝗠 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗿𝘂𝗴𝘀, 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱

The Lumin-awa Cops of Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO) seized illegal drugs with a total worth of PhP1,000,680.00 and arrested a drug personality in a separate operation conducted in Kailnga on February 1, 2025.

In Tinglayan, joint operatives from the 1st Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company, Tinglayan Municipal Police Station, and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of Kalinga PPO eradicated a ma*****na cultivation site in Barangay Loccong. The operation led to the discovery of 5,000 Fully Grown Ma*****na Plants with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP1,000,000.00.

In a separate operation on the same day, operatives of Tabuk City Police Station (CPS) arrested a 24-year-old male, identified as a Street Level Individual, in Barangay Lacnog East. The arrest followed a report from the suspect's father, who found illegal drugs in his possession. Authorities seized approximately 0.1 grams of suspected shabu with an SDP of PhP680.00.

The suspect is now in custody at the Tabuk CPS, where he will be charged with violating Republic Act No. 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
