If some of the beam rebars are outside of the column core:

1. The bars will not develop full strength because they are not fully embedded in the joint.

2. Concrete will split where the bars try to transfer force outside the joint core.

3. The beam will not resist the design moment since part of its tension or compression reinforcement is ineffective.

4. Risk of brittle failure during earthquakes. Seismic design requires full anchorage of beam bars within the joint.

Ano ba ang top bars sa slab? 🤔🤔

Pag gumagawa ng slab especially sa mga residential, kalimitan ang makikita mo lang yung bottom bars at iniisip nila na sapat na yun. Kaya paglipas ng taon o baka nga buwan lang may cracks na sa slab, may tumutulong tubig, at minsan umaabot pa sa structural failure.

Ang top bars ay mga bakal na nilalagay sa taas ng slab, usually sa ibabaw ng beams at walls. Kasama sila ng bottom bars para maging matibay at safe ang slab.

Functions ng top bars
✅ Sila ang lumalaban sa negative bending moments sa supports
✅ Pinipigilan nila ang cracks sa beam-slab connection
✅ Tinutulungan nilang ma-transfer ng maayos ang load sa structure

Kaya mahalaga ang supervision ng licensed Civil Engineer para matiyak na tama ang placement ng mga yan at hindi hula hula lang.

Malaki ba ang sahod ng isang Civil Engineer?

Depende, depende sa skills, license, at experience. Hindi automatic na mataas ang sahod pag licensed ka. Dapat mag-invest ka sa skills at experience para tumaas ang value mo. "Tandaan mo as long as you're making a living for your family while doing your passion, it is worth it. "

Yan tandaan mo, para di ka masaktan pag naaalala mo sahod mo. 🤣🤣
