Hindi maalat, ang sarap ng rice-flour na shell, at balanced lang yung lasa ng meat kaya hindi overpowering at ang laman ay talagang papaya. In short, ito yung klaseng Vigan-style empanada na mapaparami ka talaga nang hindi mo namamalayan 🤤

Yung okoy, sobrang crispy, maganda ang pakakaluto ng shrimp to the point na hindi niya natrigger yung allergies ko. 🦐

La Union isn’t new to us anymore, but seeing the family experience it for the first time made the trip feel different. Sometimes the best part of traveling isn’t the place itself, it’s watching the people you love enjoy the moments with you. 🥹

Hands of Hope Along Nalvo Shore

As the sun sets along the shore of Nalvo Beach in Santa Maria Ilocos Sur, local fishermen begin
gathering their nets after hours at sea. The catch for the day is small, showing the challenges
faced by coastal communities whose lives depend on the ocean. Among them is a fisherman
with a disability in one hand, yet he continues to help prepare and carry the nets beside the
others. His determination reflects the strength and resilience of the people who rely on fisheries
for their livelihood.
This scene reminds us that fisheries are not only about food and income, but also about
survival, unity, and hope. Protecting marine resources and keeping coastal waters healthy are
important so future generations can continue living from the sea. Through responsible fishing,
community cooperation, and care for the environment, coastal communities like those in Nalvo
Beach can remain resilient despite hardships brought by declining catch and changing
environmental conditions.
