On 10 September, the German Club, Manila Philippines in Makati was the venue for our monthly board meeting, where the Trustees of the Club meet to discuss topics of significant importance related to supporting our members and our charitable activities.

The dedicated members of the board, namely Albert de Munck, James Chant, Olivier Guilluy, Stephen Free, Weston Reece, Julian Smith, Arlene Abelardo, Elisa Thoburn, Michael McKenzie, Anna Campbell, and Angelica Takashima, including the Corporate Secretary, Atty. Christine Menzies, present and provide updates on the various activities and topics being worked on, for example - Golf Tournament in Canlubang on 21 November, Vocational Training (started pilot scheme with Don Bosco Technical Institute of Makati, Inc. in July)

Scholarship programme (on boarded 5 new scholars and actively looking for 3 more)

Social nights planned for September, October and November

And, with us entering the last quarter of 2025, we also reflected on a two successes -

1. A surge in membership, both corporate and individual with growing interest in Lighthouse.

2. Increased attendance and support for our social nights with numbers approaching 70 per event.

The Lighthouse Club Manila has always been about more than just networking.

We've signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to sponsor 10 ๐๐ž๐ฌ๐ž๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฌโ€”7 young men and 3 young womenโ€”as they begin a life-changing journey into vocational training.

This isn't just a donation; it's a direct investment in the future of the Filipino construction industry. The students will undergo training in Electrical Installation, Mechatronics, Motor Control, and PV Solar Installation, working toward their TESDA NC II/III certification. This program, which kicked off this July, will equip them with tangible, in-demand skills that will help them secure qualified jobs and build a brighter life for themselves and their families.
