🌊 DAGAT: A Devotional for Rest, Reflection, and Renewal

Theme: “Finding Peace in the Presence of God”

“He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.” – Psalm 23:2–3 💧

☀️ D – Disconnect to Rest
Let go of the noise. Jesus invites us to quiet places to rest. (Mark 6:31)

🌤️ A – Acknowledge God's Presence
You’re not in control—but you’re deeply cared for. (Psalm 46:10)

🌊 G – Give Your Worries to God
Let the waves wash away your anxiety. (1 Peter 5:7)

🧭 A – Align Your Heart Again
Rest isn’t just a break — it’s a reset. (Proverbs 3:6)

🌈 T – Thank God for the Journey
Every tide and trial has purpose. (1 Thess. 5:18)

🕊️ Take time. Take a breath. Take it to God.
Your soul needs this kind of vacation.

🌅 Reflection Questions:
• What do I need to let go of today?
• When was the last time I truly rested—with God, not just from people?
• How can I make space for peace, even after this vacation ends?

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, thank You for moments of rest by the sea. Help me to find stillness in Your presence, peace in Your promises, and purpose in Your plans. Teach me to breathe, to slow down, and to trust. Amen.

FATHER’S DAY 2025
Aywanan (Kumisan): A Father's Gift of Hope

“The purpose of thinking about the future is not to predict it but to raise people’s hopes.”
– Freeman Dyson

Real fathers—biological or spiritual—don't just prepare for the future, they build it with hope.
Through sacrifice, presence, and prayer, they practice Aywanan—a bold kind of care that lifts others up.

Just like our Heavenly Father:
“Do not fear, for I am with you... I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10

This Father's Day, let’s honor those who cared for us—and become carriers of hope for the next generation.
🌱 Keep doing good.
🌱 Care like Christ.
🌱 Be a builder of hope.

🦅 YOU WEREN’T BORN TO STAY ON THE GROUND 🦅

Eddie the Eagle wasn’t the best.
He didn’t start like everyone else.
He didn’t wear the right suit.
He was laughed at, doubted, and dismissed...

But he jumped anyway.
He flew anyway.
He believed he could – and that changed everything.

💥 Faith is like that.
You may not have all the “right” stuff.
But when you trust God’s call,
and take the leap — He lifts you.

📖 “The important thing is not to win, but to take part.” – Olympic Creed
📖 “With God all things are possible.” – Matthew 19:26

Don’t wait to feel ready.
Just fly.

Embracing Your Journey

Scripture:
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." – Romans 8:28 (NIV)

Devotional Thought:
Life is a journey filled with both joy and pain, triumphs and trials. Sometimes, we look back on our past with regret or resentment, wishing certain experiences never happened. But every moment—good and bad—has shaped us into who we are today. God uses every experience to mold us for His purpose.

Joseph endured betrayal, slavery, and imprisonment, yet he later realized that those painful experiences were part of God’s bigger plan (Genesis 50:20). He didn’t hate his past—he saw God’s hand in it.

To truly love who you are, you must embrace your journey. The struggles, the setbacks, the lessons—they all play a role in God’s masterpiece. Instead of resenting your past, trust that God is using it to prepare you for something greater.

Reflection:
Are there past experiences you still struggle to accept?

How can you see God’s hand in shaping your journey?

What would change if you embraced your story rather than resisted it?

Prayer:
Lord, help me to embrace the journey You have taken me on. I don’t want to hate the experiences that have shaped me; I want to see them through Your eyes. Use every moment—good and bad—for Your glory. Teach me to love who You’ve made me to be. In Jesus' name, Amen.

The Reward of Diligence

Scripture:
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." – Colossians 3:23 (NIV)

Devotional Thought:
Have you ever accomplished something after working tirelessly for it? The joy and fulfillment that come from perseverance are unmatched. Hard work may not always be easy, but the reward is always worth it.

God calls us to be diligent in all that we do. Whether in our faith, careers, relationships, or personal growth, success doesn’t happen overnight—it comes through persistence, dedication, and trust in God’s process. Even when the journey is tough, remember that every effort you make brings you closer to the victory God has in store for you.

Think about Joseph. He endured betrayal, slavery, and imprisonment, yet he remained faithful and diligent. In the end, God elevated him to a position of great influence in Egypt. His hard work and perseverance were not in vain, and neither will yours be.

Reflection:

What goal or dream has God placed in your heart?

Are you willing to stay committed even when the journey is difficult?

How can you honor God through your hard work today?

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the strength to keep going, even when things get tough. Help me to work diligently, knowing that everything I do is for You. Give me perseverance and faith to trust that my efforts will bear fruit in Your perfect timing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Nothing Is Impossible with God

Scripture:
"Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” – Matthew 19:26 (NIV)

Devotional Thought:
Have you ever faced a challenge that seemed impossible? Maybe you felt unqualified, too weak, or like the odds were stacked against you. But God’s Word reminds us that nothing is impossible when we trust Him and refuse to give up.

Think about Noah building the ark, David defeating Goliath, or Peter walking on water. None of these things were humanly possible, but faith made the difference. They set their minds on God’s promises and kept going, even when it didn’t make sense.

Whatever dream, goal, or challenge you’re facing today, remember this: if God has placed it in your heart, He will give you the strength to achieve it. Keep pushing forward, trusting that He will provide, guide, and equip you.

Reflection:

What challenge in your life feels impossible right now?

How can you shift your mindset to trust in God’s power instead of your limitations?

What step can you take today to move closer to what God has called you to do?

Prayer:
Lord, I know that nothing is impossible with You. Strengthen my faith and help me to set my mind on Your promises. When I feel like giving up, remind me that You are my strength and that You will see me through. I choose to trust You and move forward in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Renewing Your Mind in Christ

Scripture:
"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will." – Romans 12:2 (NIV)

Devotional Thought:
Have you ever felt stuck, not because of your circumstances, but because of your thoughts? Often, the biggest barriers in our lives aren’t physical—they’re mental. Fear, doubt, and insecurity can hold us back from stepping into God’s purpose. But the good news is that your only limit is your mind—and God can renew it!

When David faced Goliath, others saw an impossible battle, but David saw an opportunity for God to move. When the Israelites reached the Promised Land, fear kept many from entering, but Joshua and Caleb believed in God’s power. The difference? Their mindset.

God calls us to renew our minds with His truth. When we focus on who He is instead of our own limitations, we step into the fullness of His plans. Don’t let fear or negative thinking keep you from what God has for you—change your mindset, and you’ll change your life.

Reflection:

What limiting thoughts have been holding you back?

How can you replace fear with faith in God’s promises?

What is one way you can renew your mind today?

Prayer:
Father, I know that my thoughts can either hold me back or propel me forward. Help me to renew my mind with Your truth and not be limited by fear, doubt, or insecurity. Give me the courage to trust You and step into all that You have for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Trusting God One Step at a Time

Scripture:
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." – Psalm 119:105 (NIV)

Devotional Thought:
Life often feels uncertain. We want to see the full picture, to know exactly how things will turn out before we take the first step. But faith doesn’t work that way. God calls us to trust Him, even when we can’t see the finish line.

Think about Abraham—God told him to leave his homeland and go to a place He would show him (Genesis 12:1). Abraham had no roadmap, no clear destination, just the promise that God would guide him. And as he stepped out in faith, God led him each step of the way.

Maybe today you’re hesitating because you don’t have all the answers. But God doesn’t ask you to see the finish line—He simply asks you to take the next step. His light will shine just enough for today, and as you move forward in faith, He will continue to lead you.

Reflection:

What is one step of faith you feel God is calling you to take?

How can you trust God today, even if you don’t see the full picture?

Are you willing to walk by faith, knowing He will guide you?

Prayer:
Lord, I don’t need to see the finish line to trust You. Help me to walk by faith, knowing that You are guiding my steps. Give me the courage to move forward, even when I don’t have all the answers. Thank You for leading me one step at a time. In Jesus' name, Amen.

One Day or Day One – You Decide

Scripture:
"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans." – Proverbs 16:3 (NIV)

Devotional Thought:
How often do we say, “One day, I’ll start praying more,” or “One day, I’ll step into what God is calling me to do”? We wait for the perfect moment, the right circumstances, or a sign from heaven before we begin. But what if, instead of saying “one day,” today became Day One?

The difference between dreams that stay dreams and those that become reality is the decision to start. Moses didn’t feel ready when God called him to lead Israel out of Egypt, but he obeyed anyway. David didn’t wait until he was older or stronger to fight Goliath—he took action in faith.

God doesn’t ask us to have everything figured out; He simply asks us to trust Him and take the first step. Your breakthrough, healing, or purpose starts with one decision today.

Reflection:

What is something you’ve been putting off, waiting for “one day”?

How can today be your Day One?

What small step can you take in faith right now?

Prayer:
Father, I don’t want to keep saying “one day” when You are calling me to start today. Give me the courage to trust You and take the first step toward what You have planned for me. Help me to walk in faith, knowing that You are with me every step of the way. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
