𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐨, 𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚 – The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology - Santo Domingo Campus (NUEST-SDC) celebrated the graduation of its pioneering batch of students for the second time this month. Following their initial graduation ceremony on June 20, 2025, at the SUMACAB Campus, a special Recognition and Gratitude event was held on June 27, 2025, at the NUEST-SDC Gymnasium.

The afternoon ceremony, which commenced promptly at 1:00 PM, was well-attended by NEUST constituents, the graduating students alongside their proud guardians, and other guests. The program began with the traditional processional of the graduates and the introduction of the university's administration and staff. It also included the welcoming introduction for the Honorable Mayor Imee Llado De Guzman and the Honorable Congresswoman Mika Suansing.

A significant part of the event was the presentation of diplomas, led by Mrs. Aechelle Aiza Esguerra. Following this, three outstanding graduates – Lara Krizelle Domingo (Magna Cum Laude), Mikaela Joy Inza Cruz (Cum Laude), and Cherry Ann Villanueva (the pioneers’ President) – were invited to the stage to share their inspiring testimonies and perspectives.
The series of inspiring messages continued as the event's host, Mr. Paul John V. Gabay, introduced the esteemed guests of honor: Honorable Congresswoman Mika Suansing and Honorable Mayor Imee Llado De Guzman. They addressed the graduates with encouraging words and expressed their joy in witnessing the first graduates from NUEST-SDC. Both dignitaries were presented with a Plate of Appreciation as a token of gratitude.

The formal program was followed by a memorable photo session, where the graduates posed with NEUST staff and their parents, capturing the significance of the occasion.

Finally, at exactly 4 o’clock in the afternoon, the successful event concluded with closing remarks delivered by Mr. Noli Mendoza, followed by the solemn singing of the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology Hymn.

Lara Krizel C. Domingo, an outstanding graduate of NEUST-SDC from the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program, majoring in Network Systems Technology, was invited to share her testimony at the Recognition and Gratitude Behind our Success event on June 27, 2025. On stage, Lara began her testimony by expressing her relatability to everyone who feels stuck, full of wonder, and doubts. The reason behind this intriguing introduction became clear to the audience as Lara shared about the long wait before she finally arrived at this memorable moment in her life. Her story became an inspiration not only to her fellow graduates but to all attendees at the event who aspire to earn a degree. After waiting for seven years, Lara proudly exclaimed, “Hindi karera ang Buhay. Hindi ka nahuhuli. Nauuna lang sila” (Life is not a race. You are not late. Others are just ahead). Following her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to her success, especially her daughter, she shared a bible verse: “When the Time is right, I, The Lord will make it happen.”, then left the stage with a smile.

Addressing the pioneering batch of graduates from NEUST Santo Domingo Campus, Hon. Congresswoman Mika Suansing delivered a heartfelt and inspiring message. She reminded the graduates that every success begins with a dream, With warmth and sincerity, she expressed her deep gratitude for the opportunity to witness this significant milestone and shared how honored she felt to be part of their journey toward success.

Congresswoman Suansing encouraged the graduates to embrace the road ahead with courage and determination, reminding them that this is just the beginning of a greater chapter in their lives. On June 20, 2025, at exactly 1:00 PM, the 113th degree and 129th non-degree commencement exercises for Academic Year 2024-2025, with the theme “NEUST: Expanding Horizons towards Global Excellence in Higher Education” were held at the University Closed Gymnasium, Sumacab Campus, Cabanatuan City. The ceremony began with the processional of the candidates for graduation, followed by the faculty members and professors from various campuses.

A total of 1,164 candidates participated in the exercises: 219 from the College of Engineering, 105 from the College of Nursing, and 840 from the College of Information and Communication Technology. Notably, 63 of the 840 Bachelor of Science in Information Technology candidates were from the Santo Domingo Campus, specializing in Network Systems Technology.

Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, President of Batangas State University and President of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC), delivered an inspiring message. He emphasized graduation as a day of thanksgiving for parents who tirelessly support their children through their academic journeys. Dr. Ronquillo stated, “Not everyone is given the chance or opportunity to pursue their studies. Many people sacrifice themselves for you to be able to study. And after this graduation, as graduates, you have a responsibility, so give your best and commence well.”

Following the address, the candidates, adorned with their medals and sashes, proceeded to the stage to receive their diplomas as their names were called. The graduation ceremony concluded at 5:07 pm with the singing of the NEUST March, a touching moment as it marked the last time the graduates would sing it together, signifying the beginning of a new chapter in their journey into the real world.

Today marks not the end, but a vibrant new beginning that lies ahead. In the words of Eleanor Roosevelt “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
