Three months ago, I was drowning in admin work.

Client emails. Project updates. Code reviews. Financial reports.

The stuff that keeps a software company running but kills creativity.

More time for what actually matters.

𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬.

The quality hasn't dropped - it's actually improved.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬, 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘱.

Used to think dressing up was for "other people."

The good-looking ones.
The naturally confident ones.
Not the CTO who lives in hoodies and debug sessions.

I told myself it was about authenticity.

"I don't need to please anyone else."

"My code speaks for itself."

"Dress for the job you have, not the one you want."

But here's what I missed—

𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐢𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬.

It's about respecting the moment.
Respecting the people you're meeting.
Respecting yourself enough to show you care.

𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤, 𝐈 𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠.

Not because I had to.
Not because someone told me to.

Because I wanted to honor the work we've built at Flyhub Digital.

Suddenly, I wasn't just presenting features—

There’s something magical about being in a room full of business owners.

Watching their faces light up as they realize their daily spreadsheet struggles don’t have to be their reality anymore is priceless.

That “𝐚𝐡𝐚” moment—when they finally see how our solutions can transform the way they run their operations—𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘭𝘥.

What struck me most wasn’t just their excitement about the technology.

It was how quickly they started envisioning new possibilities for their 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡.

Our client even stayed after to sketch out her next business ideas with us.

𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐟𝐮𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐨.

These sessions across Metro Manila and the provinces have become some of my favorite parts of leading this company.

Not just because I get to talk about our craft (𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘐 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘶𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵).

But because of moments like these—real conversations with real people solving real problems.

Just wrapped up an impromptu dinner with the family tonight. Nothing fancy - we literally had no clue what to eat, so I just told everyone "𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵 𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦, 𝘸𝘦'𝘳𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦."

My toddler brother was bouncing around asking a million questions, mom was trying to guess where we were headed, and dad was just quietly along for the ride. This was honestly unexpected, but somehow it turned into one of those evenings where everyone's just... present.

Been thinking a lot lately about this motto I carry: "𝐇𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢 𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐤𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢 𝐚𝐤𝐨 𝐩𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭."

I know I'm not giving enough yet - not to my family, not to the team at Flyhub Digital, not to the community we're building.

But I'm trying to make sure that while I figure it out, I'm at least not making things harder for the people who matter.

Watching my little brother steal rice and dish from everyone's plate tonight reminded me that sometimes the simplest moments are the ones that ground you.

All the late nights coding, the client calls, the constant push to build something meaningful - 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴.

Grateful for a family that doesn't need explanations when you randomly say "𝘭𝘦𝘵'𝘴 𝘨𝘰 𝘦𝘢𝘵."

And grateful for the reminder that growth happens in the small moments too, not just in sprint reviews and feature releases.

To more spontaneous dinners and patient families who put up with our random ideas. 🙏

𝐀 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐬 (𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧’𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 👀).

Just had one of those moments that reminded me why I love this industry so much.

Been working on an IoT project and needed some specific components - you know how it is when you're deep in build mode and suddenly realize you're missing that one crucial part.

Shopee was out, local stores had nothing, so I started hunting around Lipa City.

𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐞𝐦 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 "𝐆𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐬 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐬" 𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐃𝐞 𝐋𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐩𝐚.

Now here's where it gets fun - I've been ordering from them 3 times in just a few hours (yeah, I'm that guy who forgets half the parts list 😅), so I decided to lighten the mood with my latest message: "pasama po ng extrang kanin"

Their admin's response? They actually sent me a handwritten note saying "2 𝘚𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘨 1 𝘒𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘯" 📝

I'm sitting here laughing because this is exactly what's missing in our increasingly automated world.

Sure, everyone's talking about full AI automation these days, and don't get me wrong - we love our tech at Flyhub Digital. But there's something AI just can't replicate:

𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘶𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘰𝘳, 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘍𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵 𝘰𝘧 "𝘱𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘬𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘬𝘢𝘱𝘸𝘢."

It's actually at the core of how we approach everything we build. Yes, we deploy SaaS solutions, but we make damn sure our clients are always talking to real humans who get it, who can laugh with them, who understand that behind every technical requirement is a person trying to solve a real problem.

Sometimes the best customer experience isn't the most efficient one - 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞.

"Come on, it’s 2025."

As a tech and automation advocate, I’ve seen it all.

👉 Spreadsheets with hundreds of tabs so heavy they crash laptops.
👉 Business processes that take 10 to 15 days when they could be done in 2.

My clients just 𝗗𝗘𝗙𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗗 their thesis, and I cannot believe their feedback (watch until the end)!

I’m beyond happy for them. Posting this to congratulate them and to express my gratitude—kasi first time ko marinig ang ganitong ka-grabeng appreciation.

They think I helped them a lot, but what they don’t realize is that I learned just as much—𝗺𝗮𝘆𝗯𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲.

As their main coder for the software side of their thesis, it was a ride full of challenges and learning. From circuits to components, multi-testers… and Greenhouse systems! Haha.

Along the way, I realized three important things:

Selling an idea isn’t just about negotiation; it’s about seeing a project through to the very end.

•𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠.
I worked on this every weekend for months while juggling school, full-time work, and business—but somehow, we made it work.
