The University of Antique (UA) Main Campus celebrated the 75th Commencement Exercises on June 19, 2025, with 1,645 graduates receiving their diplomas at the UA Traditional Knowledge Center. This significant milestone was addressed by Maria Liane L. Gayomali, Director, DBM Region VI- Western Visayas. Graduates from the College of Industrial Technology Teacher Education (CIT), College of Teacher Education (CTE), College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA), and College of Computer Studies (CCS) were officially confirmed by University President Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr.

The theme, "Celebrating graduates as catalysts for change, dedicated to transforming lives and cultivating sustainable, resilient communities for a shining future," resonated throughout the ceremony.

The UA community congratulates the graduates and wishes them success in their future endeavors.

On May 15, the College of Industrial Technology (CIT )Food Service Technology program successfully hosted a seminar workshop on "Food Packaging and Labeling" at the TiripUnAn hall. The event drew in 2nd-year FST students who actively participated in the engaging discussions.

The event kicked off with a prayer and the national anthem, setting a great tone for the day. Prof. Daryl Urbino welcomed our speakers: Mr. Eleazar Salvador T. Moscoso, ME , MPA., Ms. Fidela B. Faustino, and Ms. Florence Gay Bangoy. They shared some incredible,valuable insights and experiences, providing students with practical knowledge.

As the program concluded, Mr. Raldge Latumbo, a CIT instructor, gave thoughtful closing remarks. Jay An Zamora and Jhon Rex Libuna served as the dynamic masters of ceremony, keeping the event engaging and well-paced."

Students from the College of Industrial Technology (CIT) participated in a 1st quarterly earthquake drill held at the University of Antique TiripUnAn hall today, May 15. The event, attended by all respective colleges, aimed to reinforce guidelines set by the Municipal Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) and the Philippine National Police (PNP)-Sibalom.

University President Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr. shared a thought, "A single act can save your life." The whole point of the drill was to get everyone ready and aware, so we can all look out for each other in times of disaster.

A Lifetime of Dedication to Education

Dr. Lilian Farparan, a dressmaker at heart and a Professor by passion, embarked on her educational pursuits in June 1981 as a substitute teacher at the tender age of 22. Just a few months later, on September 7th, she was sworn in as a semi-permanent faculty member, marking the beginning of a long and distinguished career. After successfully passing the board exams in 1982, her position was made permanent, solidifying her place within the esteemed institution.

Dean Farparan possesses a complex yet admirable personality. Known for her strictness and serious demeanor, especially when it came to student performance and responsibility, she always led by example and consistently delivered high-quality work. This unwavering commitment to excellence earned her the prestigious bUgAl Award for Excellence. Her discipline and clear boundaries have garnered widespread respect and admiration from all who know her.

Dean Farparan's dedication and passion for teaching have left an indelible mark on countless students throughout her career. Her retirement has been deeply felt by colleagues, former students, and the entire KasUbAy community. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dean Farparan for her unwavering commitment to education and wish her a joyful and well-deserved retirement after 43 remarkable years of service.

Today, in addition to celebrating her retirement, we also join in celebrating her birthday.

Happy Birthday, Dean! Thank you for inspiring us all. May you continue to find joy in pursuing your passion and we wish you the very best in all your future endeavors.

CELEBRATING THE LEGACY OF DR. LILIAN J. FARPARAN

The Faculty and Staff together with the Provincial Officers of the College of Industrial Technology gathered in celebrating great memories and paid tribute to the Dean for a surprise retirement party today, at the Audio Visual Room (AVR), December 12.

The program started with a doxology led by Miss Aleah Mae Catalino.This was followed by an opening remarks from the closest friends of Ma'am Lilian, Dr. Grace Pastolero.

"I have learned that putting things in words are not enough and made me realized that there are many ways making things more comprehensible to other people and that would be preparing non textual representation of our thoughts", she said.

Dr. Mary Ann Raymaro also shared some of her fondest high school memories with Dean Lilian that made the whole AVR full of joy and laughter. Morover, the Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. May Delgado also shared her message to the Dean.

The College of Industrial Technology Provincial Officers also rendered a song and offered a token of appreciation.

The University of Antique (UA) President Dr. Pablo S. Crespo was also present and left a remarkable speech about the legacy of Dr. Farparan.

The artists from BIndTech-Architectural Drafting Technology showed an exceptional hand skills through arts contest which was hosted by the College of Industrial Technology (CIT) on its annual CIT Technolympics 2024 event, held at CIT ground floor and UA Museum, December 11.

There were three categories in the said competition, namely: Poster-Making Contest, Charcoal Rendering, and Painting Contest.

Poster-Making Contest winners:

2. Ruffa Joleah Grace Rojo - Second Place
3. Rexel Miles Batal - Third Place

Charcoal Rendering winners:

The students of Bachelor of Industrial Technology - Food Service Technology (BIT-FST) demonstrated their creativity and artistic skills through "Fruit Carving and Table Skirting with Center Piece" during the Technolympics 2024, held at CIT ground floor, December 11.

The team of Simprosa Cabigunda, Stephanie Bacaoco, and Carin Nicar clinched the first place, followed by Jhanila Cantorio, Jeric Hubie Canja, and Shane Mae Florentino secured second spot, while Jilbert Pamisaran, Rgee Mosquera, and Regine Victoriano finished in third place.

Different teamplayers from the Bachelor of Industrial Technology - Civil Construction Technology (BIT-CCT) program battled for top spots in the "Rebar Works: Fabrication of Column" competition during the Technolympics 2024, held at the Laboratory Area, Civil Construction Building, December 11.

The team of Christopher Lavega, Gerald Gardose, Edwen Dubria, Kim Eguia and Rhino Baculna emerged as champions, securing the first place spot; Coming in second place were Emmanuel Ballogdajan, Torie Caspillo, Josen Paulino and John Vincent Abatay. Meanwhile, the team of Jonnalene Victoriano, Vencint Jurada, Pejie Pedro, KinMark Mandeoya and Jimmy Alejo claimed third place.

Moreover, the event aimed to promote teamwork and creativeness among participants in the field of Civil Construction Technology by showcasing their talent, skills and knowledge in the fabrication of reinforcement bars for columns. | via Britney Pereira
