Arestado sa entrapment operation ng CIDG Laguna ang incumbent barangay captain ng Brgy. Caliraya sa Lumban, Laguna.

Ayon sa CIDG, dinakip ang kapitan matapos umanong tanggapin ang ₱500,000 marked money bilang down payment sa ibinebentang lupa sa Caliraya. Tax Declaration umano ang ginamit sa transaksiyon kahit may titulo ang lupa na nakapangalan sa ibang may-ari.

Mariing itinanggi ng kapitan ang mga alegasyon at iginiit na lehitimo ang mga dokumentong kanyang hawak. Narekober din umano sa kanya at sa kanyang kasama ang dalawang baril na walang kaukulang papeles.

Retired Soldier Shot in Apparent Ambush Along Barangay Sibulao Road

Zamboanga City - A retired soldier was critically wounded after he was shot while driving a sand and gravel truck along the entrance road of Barangay Sibulao on the east coast of the city at around 2 p.m. on August 14, 2026.

The victim was identified as Edwin Divinagracia, who was reportedly driving the truck when the shooting occurred.

Based on initial information from Vitali Police Station 1, Divinagracia was traveling along the road leading into Barangay Sibulao when he was fired upon. Initial accounts indicate that the assailant may have been positioned along the roadside and opened fire as the truck passed.

The circumstances of the attack have led authorities to treat the incident as an apparent ambush. However, the identity of the gunman, the motive for the shooting and the precise circumstances surrounding the attack have yet to be established by investigators.

Empty shell casings believed to have come from a rifle were recovered at the scene. Their location provides investigators with an indication of the possible position from which the shots were fired. It does not, however, independently establish the identity of the shooter or conclusively determine exactly how the attack was carried out.

Available footage from the area reportedly provides an angle showing the roadside vicinity where the shell casings were recovered. There is no confirmed video showing the shooter carrying out the attack.

Divinagracia sustained gunshot wounds and was rushed to a hospital for emergency medical treatment. Initial information indicated that he remained in critical condition. Police had yet to release a subsequent official update on his condition as of the latest available information.

The shooting occurred in broad daylight along a road used by motorists and residents entering and leaving Barangay Sibulao.

Police investigators are expected to examine the recovered shell casings and other physical evidence, interview witnesses and review available footage as they work to reconstruct the incident and identify the person responsible.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation. Authorities have not yet publicly established a motive, identified a suspect or confirmed whether the victim had any prior dispute or known conflict that could be connected to the attack.

Further information on Divinagracia's condition and the progress of the police investigation is expected to be released once verified by authorities.

ANOTHER FATAL REVELATION:
Negros commies say they killed Solinap

FOR allegedly being a murderer and a cattle rustler, Negros rebels admitted to killing Saraviahanon Jerry Solinap in Sitio Tabuan, Barangay San Isidro, EB Magalona town on July 13.

The fatal revelation was, again, made by New People's Arny's (NPA) Rose Jean Pelle Command (RJPC) on Sunday, July 19.

In a press statement, RJPC said they killed Solinap, 64, because of his intolerable doing like killing a married couple in Sitio Trinity, Barangay Canlusong, also in EB Magalona in 2004.

RJPC or North Negros Front (NNF) also accused Solinap as man behind cattle rustling in the mountain areas of EB Magalona.

Solinap was shot dead inside their house just three days after the twin slay of Jerome Seballos and Alex Cunanan in Purok 5, Barangay 11 (Gawahon), Victorias City on July 10.

RJPC also claimed the deaths of both Seballos and Cunanan, whom they tagged as "military spies".

Newly installed Army's 3rd Infantry Division commander, Brigadier General Joey Escanillas, labeled NPA's triple ex*****on of Seballos, Cunanan and Solinap as an "act of cowardice".

He debunked NPA's pronouncement that both Seballos and Cunanan were their "assets".

Engaging in "spy-tagging" activity and killing the innocent victims seemed to be NPA's newest modus to simply create fear within Negros communities, Escanillas said."They want to project that they're still a force to reckon with, but they're not anymore."

"What a desperate move killing the three - Seballos, Cunanan and Solinao. Mga walang kalaban-laban na sibilyan, pinatay?" the new Army's 3ID commander asked.

Escanillas, likewise, mandated all the infantry brigades and batallions on Negros Island to unify their actions against NPA remnants.

"We are confident to get people's trust and suppot to our quest to make Negros still a peaceful place to live in," he capped.
