Video City is the video retail affiliate of Viva Video, the home video unit of Viva Entertainment, Inc. With the popularity of the VHS and VCD formats Video City became the market leader in video rentals in the country. Later on they rolled out their DVD format movie rentals making the business more in tune with the latest video technology.

From twelve outlets in early 1997, Video City expanded and reached it's peak with nearly three hundred outlets nationwide in 2002.

With the advent of cheap pirated DVDs and popularity of video Torrent files on the Internet, Video City stores dwindled down to one hundred nineteen in 2008, gradually closing down thirty to forty branches in the succeeding years and finally closed down the business for good in 2015.
