๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ | Unity in Motion: GMNHS Senior High Strands Forge Stronger Bonds in Teambuilding and Color Party Celebration
Held on the afternoon of August 8, 2025, at the campus grounds of Gil Montilla National High School, Senior High School students from different strands strengthened bonds and celebrated unity through a team building event and a lively color party filled with games, music, and shared laughter.
After their historic domination of the department that morning, the HUMSS strand carried their momentum into a spirited team building celebration under the leadership of Edgar David Z. Cuaycong along with the strand officers, holding their activities on the ground and third floor in an exhilarating atmosphere where games included the human centipede and melting ice using only their hands, while other strands gathered to watch the intriguing event as the seniors threw water balloons at the juniors, and despite technical difficulties, they carried out the event with grace and eloquence.
Led by Zhander Jake Tejada and Paula Jashryn Balinas, the STEM strand kicked off with attention-catching yell performances from each section that declared their pride in their strand, and the academic building seemed to listen with awe as they started with a bang, lifting spirits high and sparking laughter with humorous โtransjejeโ outfits even before the games began, while activities like the lively โPutukan naโ and the longest line challenge kept the energy rushing through the field, and although rain drizzled over the grounds, the cheers, playful shouts, and unshaken teamwork of the participants proved their joy was stronger than the weather.
Shaking the covered court with unrelenting movement, the ABM, Maritime, and CSS strands began with a Zumba warm-up that got everyone moving to the beat, then quickly jumped into Eat What You Get where Maritime claimed victory, followed by a fast-paced grade-level food relay that saw Grade 12 emerge triumphant, before ending with a tense and exciting Flip the Bottle match in which CSS secured the final win, and throughout the games, cheers and friendly teasing blended into one constant sound that showed how rivalry and camaraderie could thrive side by side.
As the bidding grew, the tension showed, and Ma'am Janice P. Bilbao led the program for the Cookery, Home Economics, Automotive, EIM, Industrial Arts, OAP, SMAW, and ALS strands, spotlighting the event with the auction of students that began at โฑ1 and rose to the highest bid of โฑ150; students who did not participate in the program were then playfully โpunishedโ by being blindfolded, arranged in rows, and asked to perform certain acts, and though the weather did not go as planned, the light rain was barely felt on their skin as shouts of fun filled the air.
As the afternoon light softened and the dayโs events drew to a close, DJ Greg set the rhythm for the long-awaited Color Party, and in an instant, the school grounds erupted into music, laughter, and clouds of powder that painted the air in vibrant colors, while students from every strand danced, jumped, and sang along until the crowd became one single moving wave of joy, and the fading sunlight caught every burst of color as if sealing the moment into memory, leaving the campus filled with the warmth of unity and the promise that such afternoons would never be forgotten.
