Whenever I visit a new province, I always try to stay for at least 4–5 days so I can truly get a feel for the city, its food, and its people. During my trip to Cagayan de Oro, I got to experience a wide variety of runs across different locations while meeting new people along the way.

I believe one of the best ways to experience a city is by running and walking through it; exploring these five different spots made my first visit to CDO incredibly memorable. I’ll definitely be making my way back next year while tagging along more of my friends

A special shoutout to Rannn Crew CGY Run club for welcoming me into their community. If you’re ever in Cagayan de Oro, I highly recommend joining one of their sessions

YouTube video of my full experience is in the comment section below.

A solid running experience here in Cagayan De Oro. There’s many more spots to run in this area of the country so I’m excited to visit again soon

Day 1 in the beautiful mountains of Bukidnon.

I’m really glad I decided to come here and experience the region’s majestic landscapes. Seeing the mountains stretching across the horizon was one of the most breathtaking views I’ve ever experienced. If you’re ever in this part of the country, I highly recommend making the trip.

I also got to try binaki, a traditional Bukidnon delicacy. It’s a steamed sweet corn cake, and I’d describe the flavor as if a banana and corn had a baby.

It’s now Day 2, and I’m heading farther south to Malaybalay City, where I’ll be visiting a few museums to learn more about the area’s history and culture

I’ll be posting a longer YouTube video covering all the places I visited and the activities I experienced once the trip is over.

Finished my first organized run here at CDO. It was probably the flattest course I’ve ever ran for a 21KM. One straight line and one U-turn, it’s a good place to aim for a PR if ever you decide to run here.

Workout for today was:
20KM easy at 5:30-600
5km marathon pace @4:35
And 1.7km cooldown

I’ll be back to CDO on Tuesday morning for one last track session at the Uptown track. I’m currently here in the mountains in Bukidnon to relax and enjoy the view

Sub 3:15 Marathon Project Update:

Almost halfway through the 19 week training block in preparation for the Sub 3:15 Marathon Attempt. Last week I finally got my visa grant to enter Australia which confirms that I will be pushing through with doing attempt in the Nike Melbourne Marathon on October 11.

I’m very happy that I’ve had no injuries or sickness in this training block so far as I steadily increase the mileage. My paces are improving I feel like a Charmander that finally evolved to a Charmeleon.

Full video is on my YouTube, and in my comment section below or link in my bio.

First time running in the public oval here in CDO. Workout for this morning was one hour at tempo 4:20-4:30 pace, glad to report it was executed.

Looking forward to the renovation of this oval/complex in the future, it has great potential to be a place where runners and everyday joggers can train and enjoy.

Will be joining the RUNNR CDO community run tomorrow Saturday morning at Ayala Centrio.

Enjoyed my first run here at CDO, Rio de Oro Boulevard. A relaxing 4.2km U-turn stretch with a cool breeze and no cars

Just landed in Mindanao in the city Cagayan de Oro, I’ll be here for five days. It’s my first time here, and I’m really excited to once again experience what it’s like to visit a province I’ve never been to before, learn about its history, and explore its local food.

Running schedule:

Thursday: Rio Boulevard, 4:30 PM easy run

Friday: Not sure yet. Any suggestions? I heard the public track oval is under renovation.

Saturday: RUNNR CDO Anniversary Run

Sunday: HOKA Midnight Run (21KM)

If you have any recommendations for activities, must-try restaurants, or local food, let me know. Thanks in advance

I’ll also be posting a separate long form YouTube vlog covering both my tourist experience in CDO and Bukidnon, and another vid on the running

Adidas Running New Shoe: The Hyperboost Run

Last Sunday I went to the launch of the newest version of the Adidas Hyperboost Line. I got to try out this new firm daily trainer which I know will be useful for my weekly training. Let me run in it some more before I give more feedback, in the pictures below are my initial thoughts.

As I train for my Sub 3:15 marathon attempt this October I think this particular shoe will be used mostly for moderate runs and long runs that have some tempo efforts since it has a more firm feel

I have both the Hyperboost Edge and Hyperboost Run, I’ll try to do a side by side comparison for y’all soon
