In a bid to strengthen the research capabilities of future hospitality and tourism professionals, a comprehensive activity titled "Building Research Foundations: Empowering BSTM & BSTM Students" was successfully conducted. The event featured esteemed speakers Dr. Ludito V. Ramirez and Dr. Aldwin M. Teves, who shared their expertise and insights on Research and Statistics development.
The activity aimed to equip students with essential research skills, foster a research-oriented mindset, and inspire innovative thinking in their respective fields. Participants actively engaged in workshops, discussions, and interactive sessions designed to enhance their understanding of research methodologies, data analysis, and academic writing.
Dr. Ramirez emphasized the importance of research in advancing the hospitality and tourism industry, encouraging students to pursue knowledge that can contribute to industry development and he highlighted the significance of ethics and integrity in academic pursuits. Meanwhile, Dr. Teves shared practical tips for conducting credible research and emphasized the importance of statistical analysis in producing reliable and valid research outcomes. Mr. Eric P. Degorio and Ms. Liezel Siervo, research staff, were also present.
The event was well-attended by BSTM and BSTM students, Dr. Dinah F. Catamco, FHTM Dean and Ms. Alma Arnejo, Program Head of BS Hospitality Management, all of whom expressed their appreciation for the valuable learning experience. The activity not only fostered a deeper appreciation for research but also motivated students to pursue excellence in their academic and professional careers.
As the activity concluded, participants left with a renewed enthusiasm for research, armed with the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute meaningfully to the hospitality and tourism sectors. The institution remains committed to nurturing research-capable graduates who can lead innovation and development in their fields.
