Southern Leyte State University Conducts Consultation Program for Liloan Extension Classes

LILOAN, SOUTHERN LEYTE — Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) Main Campus successfully conducted a Consultation Activity Program for its Liloan Extension Classes on September 4, 2026, at the second-floor building of Liloan National Technical-Vocational High School.

The initiative was made possible through the joint efforts of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM), the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences (FCIS), and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS). The program specifically catered to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) programs.

Designed to enhance the academic support system for off-campus learners, the activity served as a dedicated venue to address key student concerns, outline upcoming academic activities, and present future growth opportunities. Furthermore, the event underscored the university’s commitment to strengthening collaboration, encouraging active student participation, and promoting continuous program improvement across its extension offerings.

Through these proactive engagements, SLSU continues to reinforce its mission of delivering accessible, high-quality higher education and fostering student success.

Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) capped off its ASEAN Month celebrations today, September 2, 2026, with a grand culmination program highlighted by a major victory on the runway.

The Faculty of Hospitality, Tourism and Management (FHTM), in collaboration with the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA), clinched back-to-back championship titles in the ASEAN Fashion Show Competition. Their winning showcase featured an exquisite presentation of Thailand’s traditional royalty attire, captivating judges with its elaborate detailing and cultural authenticity.

The achievement highlights the university's vibrant cultural spirit and continued engagement in celebrating the rich diversity of the ASEAN region.

The Hospitality and Tourism Management Leaders (HTML) and Tourism students from the SLSU-Liloan Extension conferred with the Faculty of Hospitality,Tourism Management (FHTM) Dean on August 10, 2026 at the Library Conference Room to discuss matters concerning the students and their academic journey.

During the meeting, the Dean shared the FHTM’s 10 Commandments, grooming guidelines, insights about the hospitality and tourism field, and information about future activities. The students also had the opportunity to raise concerns, discuss matters, receive guidance as they begin their studies as the first batch of Tourism students at the Liloan Extension.
