In a church filled with prayers and quiet devotion, students, teachers, and workers gathered as one community to honor the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and celebrate the monthly devotion to Our La Purísima Concepcion.

Amid the solemnity of the celebration, Rev. Father Dennes Narciso reminded the faithful of a love that begins at home. That our prayers and intentions are futile if we lack to show the love and respect we owe to our mothers.

“The greatest form of love is obedience,” Father Dennes shared in his sermon. leaving a gentle reminder to every individuals, especially to the young adults that love is not merely spoken, but also shown through respect, humility, and obedience.

As the mass continued, the celebration gradually turned into a moment of healing. Father Dennes offered prayers for the healing of the mind and body, before ending the Mass with the anointing of oil on the foreheads.

STAC and SNHS showcase Radio Broadcast Excellence at District Schools Press Conference

The radio broadcasting of this year's District Schools Press Conference, held on August 21, 2026, took place at Sogod National Highschool.

Radio broadcasters from The Torch Publication of Saint Thomas Aquinas College (STAC), together with their opposing team from The Ballpoint of Sogod National Highschool (SNHS) showcases their skills in news writing, script preparation, voice delivery and production.

The event tested not just their speaking abilities, but also their ability to deliver a clear, accurate, and engaging news under time pressure. It also enhanced their teamwork as they worked together to perfectly deliver their news report.

After the intense competition, the Radio Broadcasters from SNHS was announced as the overall champion, while the participants from STAC was announced as Best in Script Writing and Best in Infomercial in Filipino category. The scriptwriting was held at Sogod National's dance studio while the Simulation was held at Sogod National's stage.

The competition concluded with a heartfelt applause and mutual respect between the two teams. The participants did not only part ways with their winning titles, but with new kills, new experiences, new built friendships, and the inspiration to speak, connect, and inspire.

We would like to express our gratitude to all the participants and coaches, especially Mr. Cloyd Rocacurva and Ms. Iris Jean Encluna Roces for their trust and support, and also the radio broadcasters from The Torch Publication for their hardwork, dedication, and outstanding performance. May you continue to speak, connect, and inspire more people in your future competitions.

Chess Battles Intensify on 3rd Day of District Meet |

The competition heated up on the third day of the District Meet as young chess players showcased their strategic skills, patience, and determination across the board.

In the Girls’ Chess Division, SNHS claimed the championship after a strong showing throughout the competition. STAC’s Freya Quimpan secured second place, while STAC’s Erecalyn Epis completed the podium with a third-place finish.

The Boys’ Chess Division was dominated by SNHS, which swept all three podium positions. SNHS players captured first, second, and third place, highlighting the school’s impressive depth and preparation in chess.

The results reflect the players’ hard work, focus, and ability to remain composed under pressure. With every move carrying the potential to change the outcome, the chess competition proved to be another exciting highlight of the District Meet.

Congratulations to all the chess players and coaches for their outstanding performances on Day 3!

As the 3rd day of the District Meet 2026 Continues, the battle between the STAC blue ox and the SNHS Ravens in Table Tennis intensifies. The event was held at Saint Thomas Aquinas College (STAC) Scared Heart Building. The atmosphere was filled with intense dedication as the athletes displayed impressive skills and techniques through powerful serves, precise receives, smashing, looping, and spinning. ‎The District Sports Meet 2026 continued with badminton taking center stage at Brgy. Rizal Gymnasium, the Blue Ox of Saint Thomas Aquinas College (STAC) and Ravens of Sogod National High School (SNHS) battled through the singles and doubles categories of the highschool category . With every rally demanding focus, speed, and precision, athletes gave their best to secure the win for their respective schools. Making every rally counts.
