โผ๏ธโ ๏ธToday, two members of our team , our supervisor and barista, experienced ๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ซ ๐ซ๐๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ง ๐จ๐ซ๐๐๐ซ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐จ.
The order was placed through a third-party delivery platform. Upon delivery of the drink, the customer became upset about the portion size of the espresso and confronted the delivery rider. The rider was then instructed by the customer to call our store so she could speak directly with our staff.
During the call, our team calmly explained that espresso is naturally served in a small portion, as it is a concentrated coffee shot. ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฌ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ง๐๐๐ซ๐ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐ข๐ง ๐๐๐รฉ๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ฅ๐๐ฐ๐ข๐๐.
Despite their ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฆ ๐๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐๐ง๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง, the situation escalated. Our staff were shouted at through a phone call, calling them, ๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐๐ and later received insulting and degrading messages through text, including offensive language directed at them.
We want to make this very clear.
Betsubara will never tolerate the degradation, humiliation, or harassment of our staff.
Our employees work hard every day to serve customers with professionalism and respect. No one deserves to be shouted at, insulted, or called offensive names simply for doing their job.
Feedback and concerns are always welcome. We are always open to helping customers understand our menu and our products.
However, abusive behavior toward our team will never be accepted.
We stand firmly behind our supervisor and barista, and we will always protect the dignity and safety of every member of our staff.
At Betsubara, we believe that respect should always go both ways.
