โœ๏ธ FACING YOUR TRIALS WITH FAITH

โ€œDavid faced Goliath, Elijah endured famine, and Paul survived the storm.โ€

๐Ÿ“– Key Text: 2 Corinthians 4:8โ€“9 KJV
โ€œWe are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.โ€

๐Ÿ”ฐ INTRODUCTION โ€” FAITH DOES NOT MEAN A TROUBLE-FREE LIFE

The poster presents three powerful Bible scenes: David before Goliath, Elijah during famine, and Paul in the storm. All three teach us that God's servants can experience tremendous adversity.
But from a Dispensational perspective, we must rightly divide these accounts.
๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 2:15 โ€” โ€œrightly dividing the word of truth.โ€

David and Elijah lived under God's prophetic program involving Israel. Their experiences are Scripture and are profitable for our learning, but we should not automatically claim every promise or miraculous intervention given to Israel.

๐Ÿ“– Romans 15:4 teaches that things written aforetime were written โ€œfor our learning.โ€
For the Body of Christ today, our direct doctrinal pattern is found especially in Paul's epistles. And
Paul teaches something important:
GRACE DOES NOT PROMISE THE ABSENCE OF TRIALS; GRACE PROVIDES SUFFICIENCY IN THE MIDST OF TRIALS.

๐Ÿ“– 2 Corinthians 12:9
โ€œMy grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.โ€
Therefore, our message is not:
โ€œHave faith and every Goliath will physically fall.โ€
Nor:
โ€œHave faith and every famine will miraculously disappear.โ€
Nor:
โ€œHave faith and every storm will immediately stop.โ€
Rather:
๐Ÿ”ฅ WHATEVER THE TRIAL, GOD'S GRACE IS SUFFICIENT TO ENABLE THE BELIEVER TO STAND.

1๏ธโƒฃ RECOGNIZE THE REALITY OF TRIALS
๐Ÿ“– 2 Corinthians 4:8โ€“9
The Christian life is not immunity from hardship.
Paul experienced persecution, rejection, weakness, hunger, imprisonment, opposition, and physical suffering.
Faith does not deny reality. Faith faces reality through the truth of God's Word.

๐Ÿ”น A. TRIALS ARE REAL
๐Ÿ“– 2 Corinthians 1:8
Paul wrote:
โ€œwe were pressed out of measure, above strength...โ€
Even faithful believers can experience circumstances that feel overwhelming.
Spiritual maturity does not mean you never feel pressure.

๐Ÿ”น B. TRIALS ARE ROUGH
๐Ÿ“– 2 Corinthians 11:25โ€“27
Paul experienced beatings, shipwreck, hunger, thirst, weariness, painfulness, and danger.
Following Christ did not make Paul's earthly circumstances easy.
Sometimes faithfulness actually brought him more opposition.

๐Ÿ”น C. TRIALS ARE REVEALING
๐Ÿ“– 2 Corinthians 4:17โ€“18
Trials expose where our confidence rests.
When everything we can see becomes unstable, we learn to focus upon things that are eternal.
โ€œWhile we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen...โ€
๐Ÿ”ฅ FAITH IS NOT PRETENDING THE PROBLEM IS SMALL; FAITH KNOWS THAT OUR POSITION IN CHRIST IS GREATER THAN THE PROBLEM.

2๏ธโƒฃ REMEMBER THE RESOURCES OF GRACE
๐Ÿ“– 2 Corinthians 12:9
โ€œMy grace is sufficient for thee...โ€
Paul prayed three times for his thorn to depart.
God did not remove it.
Instead, God taught Paul something greater:
SUFFICIENT GRACE.

๐Ÿ”น A. GRACE FOR OUR WEAKNESS
๐Ÿ“– 2 Corinthians 12:10
Paul learned:
โ€œfor when I am weak, then am I strong.โ€
Human weakness can expose the inadequacy of self-dependence.
God's grace teaches us not to boast in ourselves.

๐Ÿ”น B. GRACE FOR OUR WALK
๐Ÿ“– Titus 2:11โ€“12
Grace does more than save us from sin's penalty.
Grace teaches us how to live.
It teaches us to deny ungodliness and live soberly, righteously, and godly.
Grace living therefore means:
Saved by grace.
Standing in grace.
Serving by grace.
Suffering with grace.

๐Ÿ”น C. GRACE FOR OUR WARFARE
๐Ÿ“– Ephesians 6:10โ€“11
โ€œFinally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.โ€
Our greatest warfare today is spiritual.
We therefore stand in God's provisionโ€”not human strength.
๐Ÿ”ฅ YOU DON'T NEED TO BE STRONG ENOUGH FOR EVERYTHINGโ€”YOU NEED TO LEARN THE SUFFICIENCY OF GOD'S GRACE.

3๏ธโƒฃ REST IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP IN CHRIST
๐Ÿ“– Romans 8:35โ€“39
Trials can change circumstances.
They cannot change the believer's position in Christ.
That is one of the greatest truths the suffering believer can remember.

๐Ÿ”น A. SECURED IN CHRIST
๐Ÿ“– Ephesians 1:13โ€“14
Having heard and believed the Gospel, the believer is:
โ€œsealed with that holy Spirit of promise.โ€
Your security is not based upon how calm you feel during the storm.
It rests upon what God has accomplished in Christ.

๐Ÿ”น B. SUPPORTED IN CHRIST
๐Ÿ“– Philippians 4:13
โ€œI can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.โ€
In context, Paul was speaking about learning to endure both abundance and need.
This is not a promise that believers can accomplish anything they imagine.
It is confidence that Christ strengthens us to remain faithful in changing circumstances.
๐Ÿ“– Philippians 4:11โ€“12

๐Ÿ”น C. SEPARATED FROM NOTHING
๐Ÿ“– Romans 8:38โ€“39
Paul lists death, life, angels, principalities, powers, present things, future thingsโ€”and concludes that nothing:
โ€œshall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.โ€
The storm may separate you from comfort.
The trial may separate you from possessions.
Persecution may separate you from people.
BUT NOTHING CAN SEPARATE THE SAVED BELIEVER FROM GOD'S LOVE IN CHRIST.

4๏ธโƒฃ RENEW YOUR MIND WITH TRUTH
๐Ÿ“– Romans 12:2
โ€œ...be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind...โ€
Many battles are fought first in the mind.
Fear says:
โ€œWhat if everything goes wrong?โ€
Grace answers:
โ€œWhat has God already made true of me in Christ?โ€

๐Ÿ”น A. REPLACE FEAR WITH FACTS
๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 1:7
โ€œFor God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.โ€
Do not build your theology around feelings.
Build your thinking upon revealed truth.

๐Ÿ”น B. REPLACE WORRY WITH PRAYER
๐Ÿ“– Philippians 4:6โ€“7
โ€œBe careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.โ€
Notice that Paul does not say every circumstance will immediately change.
Instead:
โ€œthe peace of God... shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.โ€

๐Ÿ”น C. REPLACE NEGATIVITY WITH RIGHT THINKING
๐Ÿ“– Philippians 4:8
Paul tells believers what should occupy their thinking:
things true,
honest,
just,
pure,
lovely,
and of good report.
๐Ÿ”ฅ YOU CANNOT ALWAYS CONTROL WHAT HAPPENS AROUND YOU, BUT GOD'S WORD CAN TRANSFORM HOW YOU THINK ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS AROUND YOU.

5๏ธโƒฃ REMAIN FAITHFUL THROUGH THE TRIAL
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 15:58
โ€œTherefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord...โ€
The ultimate goal is not merely getting out of the trial.
The goal is remaining faithful through the trial.

๐Ÿ”น A. STAND STEADFAST
๐Ÿ“– Ephesians 6:13
โ€œ...and having done all, to stand.โ€
Sometimes victory does not look like escaping.
Sometimes victory looks like STANDING.
Still believing.
Still serving.
Still preaching.
Still trusting God's Word.

๐Ÿ”น B. SERVE STEADILY
๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 4:5
โ€œ...endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.โ€
Paul did not tell Timothy:
โ€œQuit when ministry becomes painful.โ€
He said:
ENDURE.

๐Ÿ”น C. SEE THE ETERNAL
๐Ÿ“– 2 Corinthians 4:17
โ€œFor our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.โ€
The believer's story does not end with present suffering.
Our ultimate hope is heavenly.
๐Ÿ“– Philippians 3:20โ€“21
Our expectation is Christ and the transformation of our bodies.
๐Ÿ“– 1 Thessalonians 4:16โ€“18
๐Ÿ”ฅ DON'T JUDGE GOD'S FAITHFULNESS BY ONE PAINFUL CHAPTERโ€”YOUR ETERNAL STORY IN CHRIST IS NOT FINISHED.

๐Ÿ CONCLUSION โ€” FROM DAVID, ELIJAH, AND PAUL TO US

David faced Goliath.
Elijah experienced famine.
Paul endured storms.
But rightly divided, we should not turn these accounts into a formula promising miraculous deliverance from every earthly difficulty.

For the Body of Christ, Paul's testimony gives us a powerful Grace principle:
๐Ÿ“– 2 Corinthians 4:8โ€“9
Troubled โ€” yet not distressed.
Perplexed โ€” but not in despair.
Persecuted โ€” but not forsaken.
Cast down โ€” but not destroyed.
Why?
Not because Paul had an easy life.
BECAUSE GOD'S GRACE WAS SUFFICIENT.

You may be facing:
financial pressure,
family conflict,
ministry discouragement,
rejection,
uncertainty,
loss,
or disappointment.
The biblical promise is not that faith makes every difficulty disappear.
The message is stronger:
โœ๏ธ CHRIST IS SUFFICIENT EVEN WHEN THE DIFFICULTY REMAINS.

๐Ÿ“ฃ CALL TO ACTION โ€” THREE โ€œF'sโ€

๐Ÿ”น A. FACE THE TRIAL
๐Ÿ“– 2 Corinthians 4:8
Don't pretend it doesn't exist.
Acknowledge the difficulty while refusing to surrender your faith to it.
FACE IT WITH TRUTH.

๐Ÿ”น B. FEED YOUR FAITH
๐Ÿ“– Romans 10:17
โ€œSo then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.โ€
Don't feed fear all day and expect faith to dominate your thinking.
Study God's Word rightly divided.
๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 2:15
FEED YOUR MIND WITH TRUTH.

๐Ÿ”น C. FINISH FAITHFULLY
๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 4:7
โ€œI have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.โ€
Paul's testimony was not:
โ€œI never suffered.โ€
His testimony was:
โ€œI FINISHED.โ€
๐Ÿ”ฅ DON'T JUST ASK GOD TO GET YOU OUT OF THE STORMโ€”ASK FOR GRACE TO REMAIN FAITHFUL IN THE STORM.

๐Ÿ’ญ FINAL THOUGHTS

1๏ธโƒฃ RECOGNIZE THE TRIAL
Trials are real, but they do not determine your identity.
๐Ÿ“– 2 Corinthians 4:8โ€“9
2๏ธโƒฃ REMEMBER THE GRACE
God's grace remains sufficient in weakness.
๐Ÿ“– 2 Corinthians 12:9
3๏ธโƒฃ REST IN CHRIST
Your position and security are in Him.
๐Ÿ“– Ephesians 1:13โ€“14
4๏ธโƒฃ RENEW YOUR MIND
Let God's truth govern your thinking.
๐Ÿ“– Romans 12:2
5๏ธโƒฃ REMAIN FAITHFUL
Keep standing, serving, and looking toward eternity.
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 15:58

๐Ÿ”ฅ DAVID HAD HIS GOLIATH.
๐Ÿ”ฅ ELIJAH HAD HIS FAMINE.
๐Ÿ”ฅ PAUL HAD HIS STORM.
๐Ÿ”ฅ YOU WILL HAVE YOUR TRIALS.
But the Grace believer can say with Paul:
โ€œMY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR THEE.โ€
โ€” 2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV

โœ๏ธ DON'T LET THE TRIAL DEFINE YOU.
LET GOD'S GRACE STRENGTHEN YOU.
STAND IN CHRIST. WALK BY FAITH. REMAIN FAITHFUL.

โœ๏ธ PASTOR โ€” THE BIBLICAL WORK OF A GRACE PASTORโ€œNot merely a position to hold, but a ministry to faithfully fulfill.โ€๐Ÿ“– K...

โœ๏ธ PASTOR โ€” THE BIBLICAL WORK OF A GRACE PASTOR

โ€œNot merely a position to hold, but a ministry to faithfully fulfill.โ€

๐Ÿ“– Key Text: Ephesians 4:11โ€“12 KJV
โ€œAnd he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.โ€

๐Ÿ”ฐ INTRODUCTION โ€” WHAT MAKES A FAITHFUL PASTOR?

A pastor is more than a preacher behind a pulpit. He is a servant entrusted with feeding, teaching, overseeing, protecting, and equipping a local assembly.
From a Dispensational perspective, pastoral ministry today must be understood according to God's revelation for the Body of Christ, especially through Paul's epistles.
๐Ÿ“– Romans 11:13 identifies Paul as โ€œthe apostle of the Gentiles.โ€
๐Ÿ“– 1 Timothy 1:16 presents Paul as a pattern.
๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 2:15 commands the workman to โ€œrightly dividing the word of truth.โ€

This also means some references on the poster need dispensational clarification. 1 Peter 5:2 and Mark 16:15 contain truths from which we can learn, but in a Dispensational framework they belong to Israel's kingdom-apostolic context. For the pastor's direct marching orders today, we especially look to Paul's pastoral epistles and his doctrine for the Body of Christ.

Using the word PASTOR, let us examine six responsibilities:
1๏ธโƒฃ PREACH the Word
2๏ธโƒฃ PRAY with Perseverance
3๏ธโƒฃ PROVE the Word through Study
4๏ธโƒฃ PROTECT the Flock
5๏ธโƒฃ PROVIDE a Pattern
6๏ธโƒฃ PROCLAIM the Gospel

1๏ธโƒฃ PREACH THE WORD
๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 4:2
โ€œPreach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.โ€
The pastor's primary authority is not personality, tradition, popularity, dreams, or denominational opinion.
His authority is the WORD OF GOD.

๐Ÿ”น A. PREACH IT FAITHFULLY
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 4:1โ€“2
โ€œMoreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.โ€
A pastor is a steward, not the owner of God's truth.
He does not have authority to change the message to make it more acceptable.
The question is not:
โ€œWill people like this sermon?โ€
The question is:
โ€œIS THIS WHAT THE WORD OF GOD TEACHES?โ€

๐Ÿ”น B. PREACH IT FULLY
๐Ÿ“– Acts 20:27
โ€œFor I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.โ€
A faithful pastor cannot preach only encouraging subjects.
He must teach:
Grace and judgment.
Salvation and service.
Position and practice.
Doctrine and duty.
Heavenly blessings and earthly responsibilities.
The congregation needs a balanced diet of sound doctrine.

๐Ÿ”น C. PREACH IT FEARLESSLY
๐Ÿ“– Ephesians 6:19โ€“20
Paul requested prayer that he might speak boldly.
Biblical boldness is not arrogance or unnecessary harshness. It is courage to proclaim God's truth even when truth is unpopular.
๐Ÿ”ฅ A PASTOR MUST NEVER SACRIFICE TRUTH ON THE ALTAR OF POPULARITY.

2๏ธโƒฃ PRAY WITH PERSEVERANCE
๐Ÿ“– 1 Thessalonians 5:17
โ€œPray without ceasing.โ€
A pastor who spends time preaching publicly should also spend time praying privately.
But in the Dispensation of Grace, prayer must also be rightly divided.
Prayer is not manipulating God into giving us everything we demand. Pauline prayer emphasizes spiritual understanding, strength, wisdom, thanksgiving, open doors for ministry, and effective service.

๐Ÿ”น A. PRAY PERSISTENTLY
๐Ÿ“– Colossians 4:2
โ€œContinue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving.โ€
Prayer should not be reserved only for emergencies.
Prayer should characterize the believer's daily walk.

๐Ÿ”น B. PRAY PURPOSEFULLY
๐Ÿ“– Ephesians 1:16โ€“18
Notice Paul's prayer emphasis: that believers would receive spiritual wisdom and have โ€œthe eyes of your understandingโ€ enlightened.
He wanted believers to know what God had already given them in Christ.
That is a powerful model for grace prayer.

๐Ÿ”น C. PRAY PAULINELY
๐Ÿ“– Philippians 4:6โ€“7
Paul does not promise that every difficult circumstance will immediately disappear.
Instead, believers bring their requests to God โ€œwith thanksgiving,โ€ and God's peace guards the heart and mind.
๐Ÿ”ฅ PRAYER DOESN'T ALWAYS REMOVE THE PRESSUREโ€”BUT GOD'S GRACE ENABLES US TO WALK FAITHFULLY THROUGH IT.
๐Ÿ“– 2 Corinthians 12:9

3๏ธโƒฃ PROVE THE WORD THROUGH STUDY
๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 2:15
โ€œStudy to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.โ€
This is especially foundational in a Strict Mid-Acts ministry.
The pastor must not merely read Scripture.
He must understand Scripture dispensationally.

๐Ÿ”น A. STUDY THE SCRIPTURE
๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 3:16โ€“17
โ€œAll scripture is given by inspiration of God...โ€
We believe ALL SCRIPTURE.
Genesis through Revelation belongs in our Bible.
But believing all Scripture does not mean applying every command indiscriminately to ourselves.

๐Ÿ”น B. SEPARATE THE PROGRAMS
๐Ÿ“– Romans 16:25โ€“26
Paul distinguishes between truth that was โ€œspoken by the mouth of his holy prophetsโ€ and the revelation of the Mystery that had been โ€œkept secret since the world began.โ€
This helps us recognize the distinction between:
PROPHECY โ€” God's revealed purpose involving Israel
and
MYSTERY โ€” the previously hidden revelation concerning the Body of Christ.
๐Ÿ“– Ephesians 3:1โ€“9

๐Ÿ”น C. SEE PAUL'S STEWARDSHIP
๐Ÿ“– Ephesians 3:2
โ€œIf ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward.โ€
Paul did not invent Grace.
The risen Christ revealed the message and stewardship to Paul.
๐Ÿ“– Galatians 1:11โ€“12
Therefore, following Pauline doctrine does not mean replacing Christ with Paul.
WE FOLLOW PAUL BECAUSE PAUL POINTS US TO THE RISEN CHRIST.
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 11:1
๐Ÿ”ฅ ALL THE BIBLE IS FOR OUR LEARNING, BUT WE MUST RIGHTLY DIVIDE WHAT GOD IS DOING TODAY.

4๏ธโƒฃ PROTECT THE FLOCK
๐Ÿ“– Acts 20:28โ€“30
Paul warned the Ephesian elders that grievous wolves would enter among them.
A pastor therefore cannot merely feed sheep.
He must also identify spiritual danger.

๐Ÿ”น A. PROTECT FROM FALSE DOCTRINE
๐Ÿ“– 1 Timothy 1:3โ€“4
Timothy was instructed:
โ€œthat they teach no other doctrine.โ€
Doctrine matters because wrong doctrine eventually produces wrong thinking and wrong living.
The pastor should expose error with Scripture, not merely attack personalities.

๐Ÿ”น B. PROTECT FROM FOOLISH DISPUTES
๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 2:23
โ€œBut foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.โ€
Not every controversy deserves the pastor's pulpit.
Some battles protect truth.
Other battles merely produce arguments.
Wisdom knows the difference.

๐Ÿ”น C. PROTECT WITH FIRM GENTLENESS
๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 2:24โ€“25
โ€œAnd the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient...โ€
This is crucial.
Boldness without love becomes brutality.
Love without truth becomes compromise.
The biblical pastor needs both.
๐Ÿ”ฅ A GOOD SHEPHERD DOESN'T ONLY KNOW WHERE THE SHEEP AREโ€”HE KNOWS WHERE THE WOLVES ARE.

5๏ธโƒฃ PROVIDE A PATTERN
๐Ÿ“– 1 Timothy 4:12
โ€œ...be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.โ€
A pastor's sermon continues after he leaves the pulpit.
His life becomes part of his message.

๐Ÿ”น A. PATTERN IN CHARACTER
๐Ÿ“– 1 Timothy 3:2โ€“3
The overseer is to be:
vigilant,
sober,
of good behaviour,
given to hospitality,
apt to teach.
Ministry ability cannot substitute for Christian character.

๐Ÿ”น B. PATTERN IN CONDUCT
๐Ÿ“– Titus 2:7
โ€œIn all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works...โ€
People should see that the doctrine preached on Sunday influences the pastor's conduct throughout the week.
Grace is not merely doctrine to defend.
GRACE IS TRUTH THAT SHOULD TRANSFORM OUR WALK.
๐Ÿ“– Titus 2:11โ€“12

๐Ÿ”น C. PATTERN IN CARE
๐Ÿ“– 1 Thessalonians 2:7โ€“8
Paul described his ministry with tenderness and personal affection.
Pastoral ministry is not controlling people.
It is serving them.
๐Ÿ“– 2 Corinthians 1:24
โ€œNot for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy...โ€
๐Ÿ”ฅ THE PASTOR IS NOT THE LORD OF THE CHURCHโ€”CHRIST IS.
๐Ÿ“– Colossians 1:18

6๏ธโƒฃ PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 15:1โ€“4
A pastor may build programs, organize events, counsel families, teach doctrine, and manage ministryโ€”but if the saving Gospel becomes unclear, something essential has been lost.

๐Ÿ”น A. PROCLAIM CHRIST'S DEATH
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 15:3
โ€œChrist died for our sins according to the scriptures.โ€
The sinner's greatest problem is SIN.
๐Ÿ“– Romans 3:23
The answer is Christ's substitutionary death.
๐Ÿ“– Romans 5:8

๐Ÿ”น B. PROCLAIM CHRIST'S BURIAL
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 15:4
โ€œAnd that he was buried...โ€
Christ truly died.
His burial belongs to Paul's declaration of the Gospel.
The debt of sin was not left unfinished waiting for our religious works to complete it.

๐Ÿ”น C. PROCLAIM CHRIST'S RESURRECTION
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 15:4
โ€œ...and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.โ€
The Gospel does not end with a dead Christ.
CHRIST IS RISEN!
๐Ÿ“– Romans 4:25
He was:
delivered for our offences,
and
raised again for our justification.
The sinner is not saved by church membership, water baptism, law keeping, tithing, sacraments, or religious performance.
๐Ÿ“– Ephesians 2:8โ€“9
Salvation is received by grace through faith.
๐Ÿ”ฅ THE PASTOR'S GREATEST MESSAGE IS NOT โ€œFOLLOW ME.โ€
IT IS: โ€œBELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.โ€
๐Ÿ“– Acts 16:31

๐Ÿ CONCLUSION โ€” THE PASTOR IS A STEWARD, NOT A STAR

The biblical pastor is not called primarily to become:
famous,
wealthy,
popular,
powerful,
or admired.
He is called to be FAITHFUL.
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 4:2
โ€œMoreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.โ€
A large congregation does not automatically prove faithfulness.
A small congregation does not automatically prove failure.
Social-media followers do not determine spiritual success.
GOD'S STANDARD IS FAITHFUL STEWARDSHIP OF HIS TRUTH.

A faithful Grace pastor therefore:
PREACHES faithfully.
PRAYS continually.
PROVES doctrine carefully.
PROTECTS the assembly.
PROVIDES an example.
PROCLAIMS the Gospel.

๐Ÿ“ฃ CALL TO ACTION โ€” THREE โ€œC'sโ€

๐Ÿ”น A. COMMIT TO THE WORD
๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 2:15
Pastor, preacher, teacher, and believerโ€”become a serious student of Scripture.
Don't merely collect sermons.
STUDY THE BOOK.

๐Ÿ”น B. CONTINUE IN THE DOCTRINE
๐Ÿ“– 1 Timothy 4:16
โ€œTake heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them...โ€
Don't exchange sound doctrine for trends.
Don't exchange truth for crowds.
Don't exchange Pauline truth for religious tradition.
CONTINUE.

๐Ÿ”น C. COMMUNICATE THE GOSPEL
๐Ÿ“– 2 Corinthians 5:19โ€“20
God has committed unto us โ€œthe word of reconciliation.โ€
We therefore serve as ambassadors for Christ.
The local church should never become so occupied with activities that it forgets its message.
PREACH CHRIST AND HIS FINISHED CROSSWORK.

๐Ÿ’ญ FINAL THOUGHTS โ€” REMEMBER โ€œPASTORโ€

1๏ธโƒฃ P โ€” PREACH THE WORD
Be faithful to God's truth.
๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 4:2
2๏ธโƒฃ A โ€” ALWAYS PRAY
Minister from dependence upon God, not confidence in the flesh.
๐Ÿ“– 1 Thessalonians 5:17
3๏ธโƒฃ S โ€” STUDY THE WORD
Rightly divide Scripture and understand God's present dispensation of Grace.
๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 2:15; Ephesians 3:2
4๏ธโƒฃ T โ€” TAKE CARE OF THE FLOCK
Feed, teach, warn, correct, comfort, and protect the local assembly.
๐Ÿ“– Acts 20:28; 2 Timothy 2:24โ€“25
5๏ธโƒฃ O โ€” OVERSEE BY EXAMPLE
Lead through godly character rather than domination.
๐Ÿ“– 1 Timothy 3:1โ€“7; 1 Timothy 4:12
6๏ธโƒฃ R โ€” REACH OTHERS WITH THE GOSPEL
Make Christ's death, burial, and resurrection unmistakably clear.
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 15:1โ€“4

๐Ÿ”ฅ DON'T JUST FILL THE PULPITโ€”FEED THE PEOPLE.
๐Ÿ“– DON'T JUST READ THE WORDโ€”RIGHTLY DIVIDE THE WORD.
โค๏ธ DON'T JUST LEAD PEOPLEโ€”LOVE THE PEOPLE.
โœ๏ธ DON'T JUST BUILD A MINISTRYโ€”BUILD
BELIEVERS IN CHRIST.

PREACH THE WORD.
PROTECT THE TRUTH.
PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL.
BE FAITHFUL UNTIL CHRIST COMES.
๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 4:2
โ€œPREACH THE WORD.โ€

โœ๏ธ WHO ARE THE ENEMIES OF THE CROSS OF CHRIST?

โ€œWhen Religion Replaces Grace, the Cross Is Emptied of Its Glory.โ€

๐Ÿ“– Key Text: Philippians 3:18โ€“19 KJV
โ€œFor many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ...โ€

๐Ÿ”ฐ INTRODUCTION โ€” AN ENEMY OF THE CROSS MAY LOOK RELIGIOUS

When we hear the phrase โ€œenemy of the cross,โ€ we may immediately imagine an atheist, persecutor, or openly immoral person.
But in Philippians 3, Paul's warning comes in a context that includes religious confidence in the flesh.
๐Ÿ“– Philippians 3:3 โ€” โ€œ...have no confidence in the flesh.โ€
๐Ÿ“– Philippians 3:9 โ€” Paul desired to be found in Christ, โ€œnot having mine own righteousness.โ€
An enemy of the Cross does not necessarily have to physically attack a cross or openly deny Jesus. The danger can also appear whenever human merit is elevated in a way that obscures the sufficiency of Christ's finished work.

This requires an important qualification regarding the poster: giving money itself does not make someone an enemy of the Cross. Paul clearly teaches financial support for ministry. The problem is turning givingโ€”whether called a tithe, offering, seed, or donationโ€”into a means of justification, spiritual manipulation, or compulsory law imposed on the Body of Christ.

From a Dispensational perspective, the Body of Christ is under grace, not under the Mosaic Law (Romans 6:14), and giving today is taught through grace giving (2 Corinthians 8โ€“9).

Our five truths are:
1๏ธโƒฃ PERVERSION OF THE GOSPEL
2๏ธโƒฃ PRIDE OF THE FLESH
3๏ธโƒฃ PROFIT FROM RELIGION
4๏ธโƒฃ PRESSURE THROUGH LEGALISM
5๏ธโƒฃ PREEMINENCE OF THE CROSS

1๏ธโƒฃ PERVERSION OF THE GOSPEL
๐Ÿ“– Galatians 1:6โ€“9
The first danger is doctrinal. Satan does not always try to eliminate religious language; sometimes the more effective strategy is to corrupt the message being preached.
Paul was uncompromising concerning Gospel clarity.

๐Ÿ”น A. PERVERTING GRACE
๐Ÿ“– Galatians 1:7
โ€œ...there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.โ€
A message becomes corrupted when human works are inserted as necessary grounds for justification.
Paul teaches:
๐Ÿ“– Romans 3:24 โ€” โ€œBeing justified freely by his grace...โ€
Grace means salvation rests upon what Christ accomplished, not what sinners accomplish for Christ.

๐Ÿ”น B. POLLUTING THE CROSS
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 1:17
Paul warned that the Cross could be โ€œmade of none effectโ€ by human wisdom.
The Cross needs no religious supplement.
Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again.
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 15:1โ€“4
When someone teaches:
Christ + religious performance = salvation
the sufficiency of Christ's work is obscured.

๐Ÿ”น C. PROCLAIMING CHRIST
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 2:2
โ€œFor I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.โ€
The answer to a corrupted Gospel is not another religious system.
It is the clear proclamation of Christ's finished work.
๐Ÿ”ฅ THE GOSPEL IS NOT WHAT WE DO FOR GODโ€”THE GOSPEL DECLARES WHAT CHRIST HAS DONE FOR SINNERS.

2๏ธโƒฃ PRIDE OF THE FLESH
๐Ÿ“– Philippians 3:3
โ€œ...rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.โ€
Paul knew religious credentials better than most people. He could list his circumcision, ancestry, tribe, Hebrew heritage, Pharisaic position, zeal, and law-righteousness.
Yet he counted all of it loss compared with Christ.

๐Ÿ”น A. PRIDE IN PERFORMANCE
๐Ÿ“– Philippians 3:4โ€“6
Religion says:
โ€œLook what I have accomplished.โ€
Grace says:
โ€œLook what Christ accomplished.โ€
Our works may have a proper place in Christian service, but they have no place as the basis of our justification.

๐Ÿ”น B. PRIDE IN POSITION
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 3:5โ€“7
Paul warned believers against elevating ministers improperly.
The preacher is not the Savior.
The pastor is not the mediator of salvation.
The denomination is not the source of righteousness.
God gives the increase.

๐Ÿ”น C. PRIDE PUT ASIDE
๐Ÿ“– Philippians 3:7โ€“9
Paul abandoned confidence in his own righteousness and desired the righteousness that comes through faith in Christ.
๐Ÿ“– Romans 4:5
โ€œBut to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly...โ€
๐Ÿ”ฅ THE CROSS LEAVES NO ROOM FOR HUMAN BOASTING.
๐Ÿ“– Ephesians 2:8โ€“9

3๏ธโƒฃ PROFIT FROM RELIGION
๐Ÿ“– 1 Timothy 6:5
Paul warned about people who suppose that:
โ€œ...gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.โ€
Money itself is not evil. Supporting ministry is biblical. But turning ministry into a machinery for greed contradicts the character of grace ministry.

๐Ÿ”น A. PREACHING FOR PROFIT
๐Ÿ“– 2 Corinthians 2:17
Paul said:
โ€œFor we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God...โ€
A preacher should never manipulate Scripture simply because a doctrine produces income.
Truth must control ministryโ€”not money.

๐Ÿ”น B. PERSUADING FOR PROFIT
๐Ÿ“– 1 Timothy 6:9โ€“10
Paul warns about the desire to be rich and โ€œthe love of money.โ€
Therefore we should reject manipulative claims such as:
โ€œGive this amount and God must multiply your money.โ€
or
โ€œIf you don't give, God will curse you.โ€
From a Dispensational truth, Galatians 3:13 and Romans 6:14 make it inappropriate to place the Body of Christ under Israel's Mosaic curse system.

๐Ÿ”น C. PURITY ABOVE PROFIT
๐Ÿ“– 1 Timothy 6:6
โ€œBut godliness with contentment is great gain.โ€
A faithful ministry should care more about:
souls than salaries,
doctrine than donations,
truth than treasure.
๐Ÿ”ฅ THE PULPIT MUST NEVER BECOME A BUSINESS COUNTER WHERE GOD'S BLESSINGS ARE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST DONOR.

4๏ธโƒฃ PRESSURE THROUGH LEGALISM
๐Ÿ“– Romans 6:14
โ€œ...for ye are not under the law, but under grace.โ€
This is where the subject of tithing should be rightly divided.
Abraham gave a tenth to Melchizedek in Genesis 14, but Israel later received tithing as part of its covenantal law system.
The question is not simply:
โ€œDoes the Bible mention tithing?โ€
Of course it does.
The dispensational question is:
โ€œWHAT INSTRUCTIONS DID GOD GIVE THE BODY OF CHRIST UNDER GRACE?โ€

๐Ÿ”น A. LAW MUST BE PLACED CORRECTLY
๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 2:15
All Scripture is profitable, but all Scripture must be rightly divided.
๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 3:16
Israel's tithing laws included agricultural produce and livestock and functioned within Israel's national-covenantal system.
๐Ÿ“– Leviticus 27:30โ€“32
We learn from these passages without automatically placing the Body of Christ under Israel's covenant requirements.

๐Ÿ”น B. LIBERTY MUST BE PRESERVED
๐Ÿ“– Galatians 5:1
Paul strongly opposed bringing believers back under bo***ge.
Grace does not say:
โ€œGive exactly ten percent or God will curse you.โ€
Instead:
๐Ÿ“– 2 Corinthians 9:7
โ€œEvery man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity...โ€
Notice:
purposedโ€”not pressured.
cheerfulโ€”not coerced.
graciousโ€”not grudging.

๐Ÿ”น C. LOVE SHOULD PRODUCE GENEROSITY
๐Ÿ“– 2 Corinthians 8:7
Rejecting mandatory tithing does not mean rejecting giving.
This distinction is essential.
Grace can produce generosity greater than a legal percentage because grace asks:
โ€œHOW MUCH CAN I GLADLY USE FOR THE LORD'S WORK?โ€
rather than merely:
โ€œWHAT IS THE MINIMUM PERCENTAGE I MUST PAY?โ€
๐Ÿ”ฅ GRACE GIVING REMOVES COMPULSION WITHOUT REMOVING GENEROSITY.

5๏ธโƒฃ PREEMINENCE OF THE CROSS
๐Ÿ“– Galatians 6:14
โ€œBut God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ...โ€
After exposing false doctrine, religious pride, greed, and legalism, we must finish positively.
The goal is not merely to attack false teaching.
THE GOAL IS TO MAGNIFY CHRIST.

๐Ÿ”น A. CROSS FOR OUR SALVATION
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 15:3โ€“4
Christ:
DIED for our sins.
Was BURIED.
ROSE AGAIN the third day.
That is the heart of the saving Gospel.

๐Ÿ”น B. CROSS FOR OUR JUSTIFICATION
๐Ÿ“– Romans 3:24โ€“26
God remains righteous while justifying the believer in Christ.
Our justification is not purchased by:
money,
church membership,
water baptism,
law keeping,
tithing,
or religious works.
๐Ÿ“– Romans 3:28
โ€œTherefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.โ€

๐Ÿ”น C. CROSS FOR OUR BOASTING
๐Ÿ“– Galatians 6:14
The faithful believer does not boast:
โ€œLook how much I gave.โ€
โ€œLook how religious I am.โ€
โ€œLook how righteous I became.โ€
Our boast is:
โ€œLOOK WHAT CHRIST DID FOR ME!โ€
๐Ÿ”ฅ WHEN CHRIST'S CROSS IS SUFFICIENT, HUMAN PRIDE HAS NOTHING LEFT TO ADD.

๐Ÿ CONCLUSION โ€” DON'T CONFUSE FALSE RELIGION WITH GRACE MINISTRY

We should be careful about calling particular individuals โ€œenemies of the Crossโ€ merely because we disagree with them over one doctrine.
Paul's warning is serious, so our evaluation should be doctrinal rather than based on appearance, wealth, poverty, denomination, or personality.

Ask instead:
What Gospel is being preached?
Where is confidence being placed?
Is Scripture rightly divided?
Is money being freely given or religiously manipulated?
Is Christ's finished work presented as sufficient?
A preacher may wear an expensive suit and preach truth.
A preacher may wear inexpensive clothes and preach error.
A church may have money and faithfully preach Christ.
A poor church may still teach false doctrine.
THE TEST IS NOT APPEARANCEโ€”THE TEST IS THE WORD OF GOD RIGHTLY DIVIDED.
๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 2:15

๐Ÿ“ฃ CALL TO ACTION โ€” THREE โ€œD'sโ€

๐Ÿ”น DISCERN THE MESSAGE
๐Ÿ“– Romans 16:17
Compare preaching with Scripture.
Don't believe something simply because a famous preacher said it.

๐Ÿ”น DIVIDE THE SCRIPTURE
๐Ÿ“– 2 Timothy 2:15
Recognize the distinction between Israel's prophetic program and the revelation of the Mystery concerning the Body of Christ.
๐Ÿ“– Ephesians 3:1โ€“9

๐Ÿ”น DECLARE THE GOSPEL
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 15:1โ€“4
Don't merely expose error.
Give people the answer.
**PREACH CHRIST!
PREACH THE CROSS!
PREACH GRACE!**

๐Ÿ’ญ FINAL THOUGHTS

1๏ธโƒฃ PERVERSION OF THE GOSPEL โ€” Don't add works to Christ's finished work.
๐Ÿ“– Galatians 1:6โ€“9
2๏ธโƒฃ PRIDE OF THE FLESH โ€” Put no confidence in human righteousness.
๐Ÿ“– Philippians 3:3โ€“9
3๏ธโƒฃ PROFIT FROM RELIGION โ€” Ministry must not turn godliness into a money-making scheme.
๐Ÿ“– 1 Timothy 6:5โ€“10
4๏ธโƒฃ PRESSURE THROUGH LEGALISM โ€” The Body of Christ is under Grace; giving should be purposeful and cheerful, not compulsory.
๐Ÿ“– Romans 6:14; 2 Corinthians 9:7
5๏ธโƒฃ PREEMINENCE OF THE CROSS โ€” Our glory is Christ and His finished work.
๐Ÿ“– Galatians 6:14

โœ๏ธ THE CROSS DOESN'T NEED OUR MONEY TO MAKE IT POWERFUL.
โœ๏ธ THE CROSS DOESN'T NEED OUR WORKS TO MAKE IT COMPLETE.
โœ๏ธ THE CROSS DOESN'T NEED RELIGION TO MAKE IT SUFFICIENT.
CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS.
CHRIST WAS BURIED.
CHRIST ROSE AGAIN.
๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 15:1โ€“4

๐Ÿ”ฅ DON'T SELL GRACE.
๐Ÿ”ฅ DON'T MIX GRACE WITH LAW.
๐Ÿ”ฅ DON'T MANIPULATE PEOPLE FOR MONEY.
โค๏ธ GIVE FREELY.
๐Ÿ“– RIGHTLY DIVIDE THE WORD.
โœ๏ธ GLORY ONLY IN THE CROSS OF CHRIST.
